ok... the "an" before vowels rule isn't hard and fast. it depends on if it has a vowel sound or a consonant sound. eg. it's a usual situation ("yuuu"), but it's an unusual situation...

so as it relates to uzi - I think it's an uzi but I dunno. i still don't get the airplane thing tho haha...
