Too many years and too many tours without new music to offer

The last "big tour" was in 2008 (after that there were only a few appearances here and there, festivals and one-off shows), also new material seems to be offered:

Quote
they explore 37 years of Cure songs, mixing hits, rarities, favourites and as yet unreleased tracks in a brand new stage production ...

I went to a show of this tour in Stuttgart and it was excellent!
Unlike some other bands, the Cure don't play the same set night for night. We were lucky because it was a very "Disintegration"-based setlist!
I had a splendid afternoon spent with some Cure fans in a pub/restaurant. At the show I met some old friends.
The band sounded good; the lightshow was well thought out and fit the songs in my opinion.
Later in the show, Robert apologized for his voice (had a bit of a cold), but there was no need to, as what I'd heard was fine!

Setlist:
Plainsong, Pictures of You, Closedown, A Night Like This, Push, In Between Days, Just Like Heaven, Last Dance, The End of the World, Lovesong, Want, Never Enough, The Hungry Ghost, Primary, Prayers For Rain, Disintegration

It Can Never Be the Same, Burn, From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea, A Forest

Lullaby, Fascination Street, Hot Hot Hot, Wrong Number

The Lovecats, Let's Go To Bed, Friday I'm in Love, Boys Don't Cry, Close To Me, Why Can't I Be You?

I saw thew in Barcelona on November 26th and had a great time!

The set was mainly based on The Head On The Door album and they played almost all their "greatest hits". I missed stuff like Faith, Trust, At Night......... My favourite songs played were Sinking and Burn, being the last one the only XX1st century song played that night...

Glad to see Guns fans also are Cure fans, like me..

Not true. "Burn" was first released in 1994 (probably recorded in '93), on the soundtrack of "The Crow" movie.
"It Can Never Be The Same" was performed in Barcelona - that is a new (unreleased) one!
(In Stuttgart they also played "The Hungry Ghost" from 2008).

I'm not sure if a new album is in the works, I would hope so but they only played 2 unreleased songs during this whole tour.

Glad to see Guns fans also are Cure fans, like me..

Well I listen to all kinds of music (punk/new wave era plus rock/folk/wotever). I've always done, but some bands are special to me (been listening to the Cure since 1985).  :)

You are right about Burn and It Can Never Be The Same. I didn´t consider the last one as it is still unreleased. I was surprised to see that not a single song from Bloodflowers, The Cure or 4:13 Dream was played.

Well I got that wrong about Stuttgart too (there was a 2004 song in as well)!
They did play a "Bloodflowers" kinda set in Munich.
They did perform "Before Three" sometimes, as well as "Freakshow".
Seems like you did have bad luck with those in Barcelona - but I'm sure it was a great show anyway!
