I want to make it clear that I have nothing against the Jewish people or their religion (as an atheist I view all religions as equally void), what I take issue with is Zionists and their supporters.

And those so-called "Zionists" certainly won't be stopped by GNR not playing gigs in their country.
Living in Germany, I certainly have nothing against Israel or the people who live there or nearby. Doesn't mean I agree with the politic certain "leaders" make though.
When it comes to "boycott", GNR couldn't play anywhere anymore, USA & UK have soldiers in different parts of the world. Germany too and they deliver tanks or whatever to Arabia and so on and so on.
Let GNR do their shows where they wish to and just do your own boycotts, eh?

This forum should be about GNR and not politics.

There are horrible things happening all over the world everyday and it's not going to stop anytime soon.

If we can forget about the horrors going on for a few hours by watching and listening to our favorite bands, then so be it.

I take offense as an American as to you talking about how Americans do terrible things to people.

Maybe you should tell all the other countries to stop torturing their own people and selling their own people, so maybe our US soldiers don't have to go in and clean up everybody else's shit.

As for whether it's about money, well money does make the world go around and like I said if GNR wants to play in certain countries and they have fans there, then let them enjoy themselves for one night, before going back to reality.

There's so much shit going on around the world and no amount of bitching or accusing is going to stop it. It's the way it is, so get used to it. IT sucks big time how innocent people are made to suffer, but there's not much that can be done in certain countries of the world, so suck it up and let the fans enjoy their favorite band before the  world ends.

It's exactly that attitude that has caused the destabilisation of the middle-east and the world generally. I don't remember the UN or anyone else electing the US the 'World Police'. The overwhelming opinion worldwide is that when the
US of 'Mericuh intervenes in conflicts they inevitably leave things so much worse than they were to begin with.  Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, Iraq x2 etc. are all cases of what happens when America tries to force its values on others, and this policy has lead to the destabilisation of the middle-east and the rise of anti-american forces in that region. I wish they would just get some sense, fuck off, and leave the UN to choose what policy to take in issues relating to the global conflicts.
LEAVE IT OUH!!!

I understood your point a couple of posts back but this is way off and doesn't really have to do with GNR, if you like GNR you would go to their concert regardless of the political situation because as a secular person u can separate Estate from everything else...

Yeah, it's the fault of the US that there are a bunch of radical extremist living in the middle east that think it is a great thing to blow themselves and others up because afterwards they will go to paradise.

Get your facts straight. We went in Korea because North Korea INVADED South Korea. The US went in, pushed the North Koreans back to their side of the 38th parallel and got out. Also, the first time the US went into Iraq was because they INVADED Bosnia. The US went there and pushed Iraqi forces out of Bosnia, clear and simple. As for the second time, I do not agree with how we went into Iraq but afterwards, what were we to do? Just leave and let another dictator take over? Or even worse, we could of let Muslim radicals take over and create another Iran. The only option was to institute a democratic government that would possibly give the country some semblance of a future after we left.

And don't start talking about how great the UN is. They make decisions as slow as possible and when they disagree with another country's actions, they simply wag their finger at them and say don't do that. And if they do actually want to use military force, which country gets to send their soldiers out to die for the benefit of another country's people? That's right, the US does.

Edit: sorry for fanning the flames, but yeah. Lets stop bashing each other, and instead focus our attention on BJ Ashba

Told you GNR should boycott the USA (and the UK and germany and Arabia and Korea and...)
Strangely enough, no such comments from you in the US gig threads...

They invaded Kuwait.

The US invading a muslim country certainly didn't help either.

As far as GNR goes, if they want to play in Israel, let them. Playing or boycotting the gig won't solve the problems between Isreal and Palestine.

The overwhelming opinion worldwide is that when the US of 'Mericuh intervenes in conflicts they inevitably leave things so much worse than they were to begin with.

Like to see the scientific study from which you received that information. Like to see even more how that study legitimizes that opinion being used as a fact.

Look.. If a band should ignore the israelian fans just because there in a land that has problems which have nothing to do with the band, band members, the fans or music in general, I really can't see why. People should realize boycotting must always be directly connected to the main problem (lots of scientific studies confirm that!), otherwise they miss their goal. GNR not turning up at Israel because of the political problems there would be just like those stupid european juveniles who did that "sitting strike" as an expression of their disagreement with president Bush's war initiatives  :fpalm:.
"If an album comes out, then buy it. If there's a concert you can go to, go to it. You're not owed another record, you're not owed any inside stories, you're not owed the band to be managed by people you approve. It's just electronically recorded vibrations you happen to like." (quoting Jplpool)
