Queensryche and Geoff Tate part ways

Geoff Tate has left Queensryche and the former singer of Crimson Glory is now the new singer.

I have a Crimson Glory album from the 80's and I loved those guys and the singer is awesome.

I watched a few videos on blabbermouth.net today with Todd, the new singer, singing Queen of the Ryche and Warning. He killed it.

I've been a fan of Queensryche for a long time, but when Chris DeGarmo left the new cds weren't as good as the older ones. After Empire, I think the band lost it's edge and it's talent in Chris.

Maybe now with the new singer, the band can make better music and not get so dramatic with all Geoff's problems.
I think the guy has issues, but none the less he's an awesome singer/performer.

I do hope this new singer breathes new life into Queensryche because these are very talented buys and they need to get back to the roots of empire and Operation Mindcrime 1.

The whole situation between Tate and the other members is out of control!
There's video of Tate spitting in the drummer's face during a show. Accusations of Tate punching various members of the band on different occasions. Tate refusing to play older songs live. Tate using outside musicians as songwriters without permission from the rest of the band. The band claiming Tate has no hand at all in the songwriting process and never did. Video of Tate recently insulting a live crowd in Oklahoma.

Yeah it's a soap opera for sure! But check out the Rising West videos on youtube! They sound awesome with the new guy!

I respect tate as a legendary vocalist, but enough with the lame new albums. O:M 2 and American Soldier were decent. But Dedicated to Chaos is a horrible abomination. HITNF, Q2k and Tribe were also nothing interesting.

The new singer sounds like Tate quite a bit, almost like they found him from a tribute band.

Queensryche haven't put out a solid album in forever. Promised Land maybe? And that's almost 20 years ago I think

I would also say Promised Land, from 1994. Hopefully they can get some of the 1985-1991 magic in a new album.
