Yes, it is for the 2012 Olympics.

My thoughts on the song are as follows: it is Muse-by-numbers. But then any song they have done for an official reason (see Twilight) have been as well. Secondly, there is a really cool riff in there, but it is buried in the mix under all the symphonic nonsense that Matt has layered all over this. While Muse do some really cool classically influenced music (Absolution, for instance) this is too much. Matt knows what sells, and he is pandering to it. It is a shame, because the guitar heavy music they make is the best, but I can't see them doing it ever again to be honest. Hopefully I am proven wrong by the new record.

I adore almost anything Muse have done, so I'm going to keep my hopes up on this record. Hearing the trailer helped that out a lot because I wasn't sure what to expect (I'm still not sure tbh), but it made me feel a little better about it not going to be completely retarded.

Sorry to those that liked it, that was fucking shit. So uninspired and boring. There was no energy, it wasn't catchy and it had no impressive musicianship at all. Muse are so much better than that song.

I think it has potential to be great. Better than The Resistance or Black Holes (my least favorite Muse album) anyways. The guitar at the end was my favorite part of the trailer. I dug the classical intro, though.
IMO, the difference between Matt and other dubstep artists is that he uses an actual instrument. Muse are too good to use computers in place of instruments.
