Over the Hills and Far Away cover
« on: May 26, 2012, 10:33:44 PM »
Peaches is right, though. I am most comfortable singing Led Zep stuff, though I do not sound like Robert Plant, in my opinion.

However I sing with the same intention. And that, for me, is what is important. Not whether or not my voice matches his in timbre, but I feel about the song.

"Over the Hills and Far Away."

I know this bitch,
she's such a bore.

Thanks, Andy. I'm okay as a guitar player but, really, jokes and slams aside, I think of myself as a singer who can play guitar.

Made it a vid for Pawnshop.

Awesome! I like the tempo you play it at - its a bit faster, but it totally works. And plus that song is so fun to play you can't help but speed it up...

And thanks again for making it a youtube vid. What kind of guitar are you playing there? I am also going to assume this was recorded indoors, whereas your Ramble On was recorded outside. Would this be correct?
How about a pint of me?

Both were recorded indoors. I was farther away from the mic for "Ramble On."

I am playing on my birthday present. My old used guitar suffered a mishap some months ago when I accidently knocked it over and one of the braces inside came loose and the guitar would not stay in tune, no matter what. So, I went to pawn shop (your namesake, as it were) and got a better used guitar.

A Spectrum acoustic, and this one actually has built-in pick ups, which I did not use for this song. The only song I have used to built-in on was "The Rain Song."

And yes, I inexplicably play this faster but it suits my feeling. I'm a bad, bad boy ...
