Slash still talking about Axl Rose and original GNR
« on: May 24, 2012, 10:51:07 PM »
I read an article on blabbermouth.net about an interview with Slash and again the question of what happened to the original lineup and if there could ever be a reunion?

Slash said he lef tthe band in 1996 and his last words to Axl were "I'm done." He said that he was given a contract to be in the new GNR, but refused.

Slash also said that over the years alot of money has been offered to them if the original members would reunite for a tour. He said the offers started at 7 figures and sometimes more than that.

I've read that after the Hall of Fame, Slash said he was done talking about Axl and the original lineup or whatever, but it seems to me he still continues to talk about Axl and the band. Now he's saying he could have gone on with the new GNR, but refused. This is the first I've heard of this, but then again, it was 1996 and MTV pretty much gave up the rock bands and videos by then, so who knows? This news probably wasn't reported.

Anyway, if I were Slash and I really didn't want to talk about Axl and the old GNR, then he needs to refuse to continue to answer the questions or to quote Axl "Not in this lifetime". Maybe then people will stop asking Slash about a reunion.

Some reporters need to ask questions in the now, not about a band that has been broken up for almost 20 years now. Maybe those reporters need to move on more than the band and it's fans do.

Heard part of this on the radio, but missed it, thanks for posting.

PS, it'll never happen, only in our dreams where we're all watching the original GnR whilst boning Megan Fox.

I honestly kind of wish people would stop asking him these questions. I'd be annoyed too after the millionth time being asked that.

Many people blame Axl for living of the GNR legacy, but interviews like these prove that the ex-members are living of it too. No one denies it and I guess there's no point to it.
They'll all have to live with their past. The RRHOF failed to end the chaptre, I guess, although many people at first claimed it had or would. It's just like Dave Grohl who has to end almost every Foo Fighters' interview with answering questions about how it was to play with Kurt Cobain.
If an album comes out, then buy it. If there's a concert you can go to, then go to it. You're not owed another record. You're not owed any inside stories. You're not owed the band to be managed by people you approve. It's just electronically recorded vibrations that you happen to like.

The ONLY member that has gotten over the split and end of Guns n Roses, is Izzy.

True.

Indeed. These questions have been asked million times and answers have been pretty much the same. How many times people have to hear it? It really seems that asking again won´t change anything. How about moving on?
All you need is just a little patience.
