Author Topic: Ron-Bumblefoot still in pain after car crash leading in to Europe Tour (Read 1878 times)

Ron just put this on his facebook account.

"The show must go on" is not enough. Have my own versions I've lived by for decades. "The show must go on time", that's one... (I know what you're thinking...) Other is "The show must go on even if it f**king kills you" - you'd die doing what you love & what you've fought for your whole life. (Nuts...)

Cost of treatment is not the issue, it's that there's now not enough time to get it done & be healed before the tour starts. *Time is the enemy*

Blood work came back & I'm as strong as a f**king Ox. All the abuse didn't kill my liver-kidneys-heart, blood's good, pee's good... (Yay4pee...) Downside is that it leaves me with no answers or cures for what seemed like a bad case of Lyme Disease. So it's all from the car accident.

So this tour'll either be 1) liveable, or 2) toxic over-medicating & freak outs & suicide watches & black outs.

Rock n roll, let's do this".

(Its such a shame that Ron is still in pain

....exept he won't! Touring is only likely make him feel worse and put him in more pain! It's such a shame, I'd move back dates and give him the time to get the work on his back done!
Or let Ashba and Fortus sub until he's ready!

It always hurts more to see someone in this much pain yet he still manages on like a soldier.If I was Ron and in that amount of pain I'd take some time off to regroup and get him better.Well he's out just let Richard & DJ do his parts,anyway Ron,we're all rooting for you to get well soon! Ron should stay home and take care of himself. The people around him including the band should protect him. These are nasty injuries. Axl can hire another guitarist. And why can't DJ handle the sound alone? I never understood why two guitarists are needed anyway.

Johan, have you heard that the last time the band was in the Netherlands they needed to rent stage attributes and equipment from none other than Marco Borsato? Marco told that some time ago in DWDD!

Sadly, until the time arrives when a guitarist/octopus hybrid is created this is going to be the case for the majority of bands....

True story! And he looked proud. He said "even Guns N' Roses" used the etc....." And who knows what Marco listen to at home?

Ah, November Rain and Sweet Child are hits at the DELA most beloved playlist. So that's why I want Nightrain as the last song. It has been Estranged for quite some time but in all honesty Nightrain is my all time fave Guns song.

but I don't want to see Ron end up with physical damage that can't be undone.....a wheelchair is never an option if it's not necessary....also becoming a junkie of descriptive drugs isn't an option either. That did kill too many people yet....

Unless the next guitarist is Guthrie Govan, I very much doubt they can find a replacement that can play Ron's fretless/fretted stuff before the European tour. And I doubt Govan would fill in either, unless Ron asks him himself.

Technically Buckethead is the best guitar player GNR have ever had pure and simple. Even if you dont like the guy you cant really deny it. But Ron has all rdy said he wil do this tour.

And glad this tour is not as long as the last few have been for his sake.

Ron get well and rest touring is only gonna make the pain worse, let the body heal and then go back out on the road. Richard and Ashba should show their worth and do it till Bumblefoot get's better.
