I just heared my gnr forum was fucking shutdown due to a leak.

Weird, I've been trying to log on but since 4 it says my account has been suspended. But I didn't do nething. Never read about a leak earlier in the day tho.weird.

Did a leak REALLY happen?? Or we just assuming that simply because the site is down? I'm getting the same "suspended" message everyone else is.Plus,I haven't heard a peep about any leaks on the other forums.Well, I'd LOVE to hear something new.Any confirmation would be much appreciated.Thanks on advance.

Not sure how "the camp" would be able to shut it down that fast if there did happen to be a leak. Unless of course they own a stake of it

I know that sites that have streamed ppv events have been shutdown by the U.S. Government / Homeland Security in the same manner. The internet isn't the wild west that it was back in the 2000's.

Do you not have to pay for the official forum? If you do, it is obviously only going to be frequented by those who love the band. Which would not lead to very interesting discussion. Personally, I think we have a good mix on this board, and this leads to argument and debate which is far more interesting than 'I like Guns N' Roses.' 'Yes, me too!' 'Hooray, lets fellate each other!'. But if anyone on here feels differently, please let us know.

The only problem I have is posting. I would prefer if we all just wrote letters.

I do thank the few supporters who have made donations. Unfortunately, it’s something that never really took off as only few people were able to donate (190$ in the last year). Supporters who have made donations in the last year have been informed how they can get a pro-rata refund if they wish.

So for many years now, I’ve been putting up my own money to help keep alive the Forum. This is a situation which I have discussed with GNR many times. Aside from expressing they want mygnrforum.com closed in the past, even after being offered, GNR has not shown any concrete interest in supporting and/or taking over the mygnrforum.com.

Aside from not making any business sense to run the Forum, it’s grown to expose me as the owner of the site to lawyer letters threatening lawsuits. So it’s making sense to throw the towel now and just close the mygnrforum.com. I guess GNR will finally have what it has wanted for a very long time!

I do believe that this was the best GNR fan Forum of all, with the best infrastructure, best moderating team and best forum members (GNR fans). It’s a shame that could not grow into something more. I often browse other band’s websites and fan forums and truly envy how those other bands have embraced the internet, fan forums, and fans! But not GNR unfortunately. I often think that the Forum could have been so much more for GNR. But then again GNR could also be so much more. But it’s currently not, and has not been for some time now. Great band, great music, great signer, but not so great marketing.

Thank you all for your continued interest during the last 10 years, I truly hope all the GNR fans will be able to find a place to continue to exchange. Thank you to all the forum members who made mygnrforum such a great place over the years, and a special thank you to all the members of the moderating team (past and present) who have put so much of their time into this. Special thanks to Highvoltage, Montrealer and Madison for their implication over the years of running this place.

I also wish all the best to GNR and to Axl Rose for the future.

I never posted there but it's sad to see one of the big forums close. I'm surprised GNR wanted close the place down. I expect a big influx here now.

That note was from last year. I figured it was taken care of but now it seems to be a money issue again. See statement below (thanks to GunsGuy). That specific site should really be subsidies by the band IMO

ATTN: mygnrforum.com staff, users, guests. This is a direct statement from Eric (admin) regarding mygnrforum.com...

"It's in fact suspended. Host company put costs up considerably due to recent traffic. I may reactivate near end of this month using Google's Ads revenue. I'm thru putting up my own money to run the forum that benefits the band but leaves me with the losses. I'm currently looking into options for a solution."

well i remember back last year when they said they were closing mygnr because it was not making any money and just a hassle or whatever, but then they didnt close it, i figured they either got donations or starting monetizing it somehow, so that would be just weird now if they did close it cuz of money. But that does get me thinking, why should gnr forums keep running supporting the current GNR band when it appears most the time they dont really care about us who bring them attention?
