This gig was pretty cool, I'm not gonna lie. My friend had a ticket and flew me out here to New York to see one of GNR's shows, I thought I was about to see them at the Ritz, but this one was pretty cool though. I saw Matt Damon there and he was pretty fuckin' wasted I'm not gonna lie. I also talked to Justin Timberlake to, of all people to attend a GNR show lol. Yeah Bumblefoot to get hit but they just kept playing. Axl wasn't that happy, but they kept playing so it all good.
*Now comparing the shows I saw in 2011 is very difficult. It was like the same show, but trimmed down a bit and it was DIFFINITELY more "Up Close and Personal". I liked it better because I got to here more songs from GNR Lies and those are some of my favorite songs by GNR. It also sounded alot better than the huge arenas and there were a lot less people since it was a private show, but I really liked it because I felt more of a connection between the band and the audience. Plus, there weren't as many people pushing and shoving like there were in the other shows. It was actually an overall more mellow crowd then the other shows (apart from a few stupid drunks). Overall, it was a better show. I also like this show because there weren't so many stupid "Instumental Jams" which to me are very boring. Guitars solos are always cool though. But I felt that they focussed more on the GNR material than some of the other shows. Also less Chinese Democracy songs were on there, which is both good and bad. Bad because I really liked some of those songs and also good because I don't like the songs that they usually play. To me, it's like they kept more true to the past GNR catalog in comparison to the other shows.
