I'd take Robin over DJ any day and I'm pretty stuck in the middle between Bucket and Ron. I love Ron as a member of GNR but Bucketheads music shits all over everything everyone else has done.

Dunno Bucket is a genius but he somehow doesn't fit in GN'R. His music is amazing on its own. For me he's a solo performer & he isn't made to be part of a band. Nevertheless it'd be interesting if he joined the band again

yeah. robin finck did the hard work on chinese. pretty boy dj didn't do shit. slash wannabee dj didn't do shit. dj is a hired gun. replaceable in a heartbeat. but robin did chinese. robin did a lot of the unheard songs that axl will put on the follow up chinese records. it sucks robin isn't on stage with guns n roses to do his work live like TIL

Robin was helpful in the studio Ill give him that but his on stage performance was average to below average. His abilities as a guitar player are suspect imo. And besides the fact he just didnt fit!!! Neither did buckethead. It was freaks n roses it wasnt guns n roses. Guns n roses was always real looking dudes that play in your face rock n roll, not a guy who hides behind a bucket and anoyher guy that looks like a zombie. The current line up looks and feels way more like a band than that band of misfits ever did!!! Give ron and dj a chance to write and recod an album with guns and ill bet you anything it is way more appetite sounding, which is what most people want anyways.

It just cracks me up that you are crying for a band that broke up 10 years ago but but those of us that want the band that broke up 15 years ago are "living in the past".

Let me ask you this insides, did you ever actually see the 2000-2002 band or are you just going by what youve seen on the internet? I have seen the illusion era, 2000 era, 2006 era, and the current line up and the current band is the best since the illusion days as far as providing a guns n roses experience when you see them live. And honestly the 2000 era was the worst in that reguard. I respect what every person brought to chinese democracy, and will always appreciate them for that, but thats about it. I would like them to release some of the left over tracks for the next album, but I also want new tracks from the new guys, maybe half and half. I wanna see what these guys can do, cause I bet it will be awesome!!!

To put it in retrospect, 2002 gnr was one of the worst concerts ive ever been to but the 2011 gnr was one of the best.

I think there was stuff about the 2002 that was good but if your going from best to worst than i'd have to say yeah 2009 on has been the best since the original band probably even better in terms of live sound in some areas but I like the three guitars some people don't

robin didn't just help. robin made the chinese democracy record. robin spent hours and hours. years and years. in the studio. robin spent years in studio makin the greatest record of all time called chinese democracy. robin recorded song after song after song after song after song after song for future chinese releases too. robin's hard work and dediction is matched by no other from what robin did in the studio for the chinese democracy record. not even slash can touch robin's hard work and dedication robin put in the studio on chinese democracy.

i saw every live show robin did in guns n roses. they r better than every show dj ashba ever did. guns n roses was at its peak live with robin finck. not since slash has there been a better live performer in guns n roses than robin finck

I to like finck and like his input on chinese democracy but he wasn't all that good live,many times he botched solos including his own.iv saw guns twice and will see them again in may,iv saw them with finck in 06 and 2010 with dj and both were fantastic gigs but for me dj was far superior on the night in terms of performance and the stage presence and i also think  given the chance,that dj and bumblefoot could make a great guns record,at least as good as chinese democracy and dare i say it........maybe even better

Personally I don't like finck.  yes his solos were good, I'd be ignorant to say otherwise but like Finck-god said, live he pretty much gargled Eva ANgelina's santorum.
