Apparently this has been happening at select venues over the past tour, leading me to believe it is simply something particular venues decide on, probably knowing Axl's history of stopping shows. Last time these stories came up, Axl tweeted that he had no knowledge of banning clothing from shows, nor did he have any intention to. As other have said, I saw GN'R in Atlanta, and there were people dressed in Slash garb and I wore my Appetite for Destruction t-shirt.
This.  SPot on man
Im pretty sure WTTJ wears a safety helmet when hes on the internets.

I sincerely think it was the Security in the Miami Beach venue busting balls because while inside the Fillmore people flipped their shirts back to AFD and Axl could see the shirts and not once did he complaint or get angry he performed like a great singer in which he is. Axl's voice was on point and he rarely went backstage for a breather he was just belting out song after song! The only thing that sucked was that Miami Beach venue the security and people the most obnoxious annoying people are in Miami Beach.

I mean, Axl doesn't ban his right arm from going to the shows.

Axl literally has that design tattoo'd in his arm. Argument over, if this happened, its wasn't Axl's request.

If you bought you AFD shirt from Ashbaswag.com you will be allowed to wear it to the show.

If you didnt buy it from Ashbaswag.com, you must remove it and then burn it.
