From classic rock website- (can't provide link on my phone)

Now, the last time they played there, in September 2010, the band were not only late onstage but walked off after 22 minutes because fans were throwing plastic glasses at them. They did return after half-a-hour to finish the set. Interestingly, Paddy Power are offering odds of 10/1 on a fan backlash over what happened last time. Those are the odds on the gig being pulled due to lack of ticket sales. You can also get odds of 3/1 that the band will start the gig on time, and 2/1 that they’ll be over an hour late.

GNR are expected to release details of more summer shows in Britain and Europe soon.

10/1 for a fans backlash? What qualifies as a backlash?

There are a lot of people that will take those odds and make it happen.
clean your ears...Nickelback's guitar work is awesome.

:fpalm: they JUST got done touring the UK in 2010. I will say, this is cool and all and fuckin' awesome for European fans, especially those who didn't get the chance to see GNR the first time around or seeing them play Civil War live, but it feels like they JUST played there not too long ago. Sure it's been two years since then, but they tour Europe every two years and the US has to wait almost three times longer. So there's gotta be a time for the tour to FINALLY end. That means going into the studio and recording the next god damn album. I don't mean to be a drag, but that's just what I think.

It's good they tour again and, unlike many of you, I don't think a new tour necessarily rules out the chance of new material. I haven't forgotten the many talks that a new album is their main focus now. Anything can happen with GNR and I'm excited about this .
If an album comes out, then buy it. If there's a concert you can go to, then go to it. You're not owed another record. You're not owed any inside stories. You're not owed the band to be managed by people you approve. It's just electronically recorded vibrations that you happen to like.

I understand every machine needs it's fuel to keep it going (money, so touring) but seriously to keep people eager to see them - they've used the whole 'new band' schtick to death, they aren't new - we've all seen them, we've all seen them play the same shit, bring out some new fuckin songs!

I have no problem with them keep on touring. Of course I'd be totally excited if a new album was in the works, but since the release of Chinese Democracy I have never felt that same anticipation.

And not because CD isn't great, I think it's killer, but because I don't want to be disappointed and I've learned how things work in GN'R so for me right now it's more like if it happens, fucking great, if it doesn't, no big deal.

Axl isn't getting younger and many GN'R songs are so demanding to sing, therefore I want to see him out there as much as possible while he is still able to do justice to the songs.
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think
Oh by the way, which one's Pink?

Interesting article in today's Irish Times about the Dublin gig.

Desmond said the request to play in Ireland came from Rose himself because the singer felt they had “unfinished business”with their Irish fans.

Yeah, apparently he didn't leave us waiting long enough last time  :coffee
