GNR's next record
« on: January 15, 2012, 04:15:37 AM »
I would hope that it comes out this year, but I'll guess that it's gonna come out sometime next year.

Not gonna get my hopes up high about an album releases this year, though I would like to hear news that they are in the studio.

Im hoping for 2013, I highly doubt it will be this year. All I,expect from this year is the rnr hall of fame, hopefully a reunion performance. Next year seems unlikely knowing axl, but heres to hoping. I also hope its more of a sripped down gnr. Now would be the time for a more basic rnr record out of gnr.

They tried that last time, but Axl didn't go for it and now we have Chinese Democracy as oppose to Slash, Duff and Matt still being in the band, so I have high doubts for anything like that because for Axl, it's all about expanding GNR's sound.

Im sure their will be some illusiom or cd sounding stuff on it, but I think know that axl put cd out he is more accepting of the old sound, henc rd the 2 acdc songs played during the live shows. Of course thars purely speculation, but I think it makes sense. And I think bumble and asba will really want to do a more straight foreward rock album.

I still think that, because Axl will always be the one to call the shots in the band and the fact that he still wants GNR to explore and expand their sound, I don't think a straight up rock record could be possible right now. I hope I'm wrong 'cause a straight up rock record would totally kick-ass. It doesn't matter what Bumble and DJ wanna do as long as Axl wants to go in his own direction, they have no say.

I know you are right about axl and control, but he will allow the other guus to have input. Idk wkere else he can take gnr's sound unless he still wants to go more industrial. Which the whole industrial thing is pretty much done so I dont think he,will. Im still confident a more appetite sounding record is on the way.

I'm used to the waiting now, so I'm not so thrilled right now. However, under the current circumstances it's hard to believe we would have to wait a very very long time for the next record. Only other corporate problems with the labels or the RRHOF could slow them down. Or Axl wanting to turn a new direction and therefore wanting to edit all of the existent material  :paranoid:... But there's no reason to think that right now.

Something will come out and the result will be quite close to perfection, as usual .
If an album comes out, then buy it. If there's a concert you can go to, then go to it. You're not owed another record. You're not owed any inside stories. You're not owed the band to be managed by people you approve. It's just electronically recorded vibrations that you happen to like.

I'm sure he'll find some way to expand their sound one way or another.

I agree, it just seems that after an artist explores different musical ideas for an album or two they are usually ready to return to their roots.
