Here's someone that doesn't have problems with releasing stuff (at least his own). Let's hope it's better than the last one.

The last one was a little too diverse, but that's what you get when you work with a broad range of guest stars.
I think it was a good album, though.

Yes, it was not bad but it wasn't exceptional either.

It was a brave album by Slash, at least he had the balls to try something different on his solo album.

Nope. 4 cool songs and some mediocre fillers. I rather listen to the Snakepit albums.

Sorry,I can't provide link for blabbermouth,but here's a new update-

Legendary guitarist Slash (GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) recently completed the first recording session for his upcoming solo album at Barefoot Recording in Hollywood, California with producer Eric Valentine (QUEENS OF STONE AGE, THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS). Joining Slash in the studio were the members of his touring band: vocalist Myles Kennedy (ALTER BRIDGE), rhythm guitarist Bobby Schneck, bassist Todd Kerns (SIN CITY SINNERS, formerly of AGE OF ELECTRIC), and drummer Brent Fitz (formerly of THEORY OF A DEADMAN).

In a brand new update on his official blog, Kerns writes, "I'm back in L.A., two weeks or so into the second chapter of the new Slash record.

"The first three songs we did some time ago are recorded, mixed and mastered.

"'Bad Rain' is a sexy drop-D number with me on eight-string bass and squawking along with Mr. Kennedy.

"'Standing In The Sun' crept up from behind to be my favorite of the three, and if you're gonna listen to 'Halo', make sure you have your home insurance paid up 'cause it'll rip the roof off.

"All of these will be out into the public consciousness in the spring of 2012.

"Myles is out with ALTER BRIDGE tearing up the U.K. right now, so the 3 Amigos — Slash, Fizt and Dammit are hard at it. Yes, I misspelled Fitz on purpose. We call him Fizt as in Fist with a Z. I don't know why. Slash's tech, Jim Survis, named him that.

"Anyway, the three of us with our producer, the über-talented Eric Valentine, have been chipping away at a whole batch of new songs. We plan to record somewhere in the area of 15 songs and chip it back to about 12 for the CD. The extras will end up as B-sides somewhere."

A short video clip from the studio sessions can be viewed below.

Slash played three of the newly recorded songs — "Halo", "Standing In The Sun" and "Bad Rain" — for VH1 Classic "That Metal Show" co-host Eddie Trunk, who tweeted , "I can tell you the three songs I heard are heavy with killer riffs and vocals. It's the same band that he has been touring with last couple years on the album, and it sounds more cohesive because of it. Really strong!"

In a recent interview, Slash stated about the musicians in his band, "I was really fortunate. When I'd done the [first solo] record, I thought, 'I've gotta tour on this.' And I had to figure how I was gonna actually pull that off. And I set about auditioning musicians in L.A. and I just happened to meet Brent Fitz, who I'd never played before and who is not from Los Angeles; he was one of the guys I auditioned and he was great. And then he introduced me to Todd Kerns, who fit in perfectly. And it turned out to be a great band from the start — definitely worth going in and making a record with."

Valentine previously worked with Slash on the guitarist's self-titled solo album. But "the big difference," according to Slash, will be that Eric is "also gonna be mastering this one" in addition to recording and mixing the CD. "So it's like one-stop shopping, which is pretty cool," the axeman said.

Regarding the musicial direction of his new material and how it compares to last year's self-titled effort, Slash said, "This one's definitely a very focused… Very hard. Some of it's very heavy. It's got sort of a more unified sound to it, especially with one vocal all throughout."

Thanks for posting this. This quote makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I enjoy very much what I've seen/heard so far of the touring band (recordings, not live.) Looking forward to this album and hopefully a live show or two down the road.

As much as I love Slash, I've gotta say; his last album was one the most generic, uninspired pieces of shite I've heard since the last Snakepit album. Anybody notice a pattern there?
I hope, I do not wait.
