Id be pleasantly suprised if they make a good Black Sabbath album, I hope I am.

Im hoping its more like the mid to late 70s stuff rather than the plodding doom and gloom like psycho man.

It would be nice if Tony could give us another piece like orchid or supertzar  :bow:

they're also headlining Download 2012 alongside Metallica...unfortu nately knowing how Download works, the third headliner will almost certainly be either horrendous or (in comparison to the other acts on the bill or simply having a poor reputation) totally undeserving.

Let's hope he can beat it. Fucking cancer already took Dio..

Luckily it was diagnosed at the early stages so he has good chances of recovery.

In Dio's case the perspectives weren't that good. They were just being positive. Geezer Butler later told that Dio didn't have any regular health checks and they found out about his stomach cancer quite late.

Tony Iommi has been diagnosed as suffering from the early stages of cancer.
The famed guitarist has lymphoma, which affects the body’s immune system. Right now he’s working with his doctors to put in place the best possible treatment and he remains optimistic of being able to make a full recovery.

Iommi hopes to be well enough to fulfil all commitments with the reunited Black Sabbath. These include a new album and a headlining appearance at the Download Festival on Sunday, June 10.

Sabbath have posted the following message on their official Facebook page:

‘With the news that Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with the early stages of lymphoma, his bandmates would like everyone to send positive vibes to the guitarist at this time.Tony is currently working with his doctors to establish the best treatment plan – the “IRON MAN” of rock and roll remains upbeat and determined to make a full and successful recovery.’

Tony has early stage lymphoma which isn't too aggressive a form of cancer.

Nergal of Behemoth overcame a fairly bleak prognosis of Leukemia not long ago. Ya never know, that said Iommi is 63 and Nergal is in his thirties.

I got the "backtrackkin" Black Sabbath 21st Anniversary double cassette when I was 12 I think, pretty much the same time I started smoking pot.

What a magical combination that was and still is, since I first heard Black Sabbath not a day goes by that a song of theirs wont play inside my head.

Tony Iommis guitar playing, especially on the original stuff, never fails to make me smile  :smoking:

Stupid shit, why can't they give the guy some respect (and a better deal). I guess he's seen as the least irreplacible member. I guess they can just call Vinny Appice or Mike Bordin.
