Excuse me, this is not the sarcasm thread.

I don't follow you're remark. You mean Axl doesn't get things done when he wants to? As far as I know it has allways been about Axl achieving anything he wants (making the show bigger, kicking Gilby out, using a more industrial aproach, continue the band with all other members and making CD with them,...). If you mean he's used to take his time to get things done, than I agree.
If an album comes out, then buy it. If there's a concert you can go to, then go to it. You're not owed another record. You're not owed any inside stories. You're not owed the band to be managed by people you approve. It's just electronically recorded vibrations that you happen to like.

I think he wanted CD released earlier, the booklet to be correct, the Better video to be released, all the cancelled concerts to have been played, etc. So no, he doesn't always achieve what he wants, and when he does, it often takes him extraordinary long time to do it.

After hearing the interview, I personally like DJ. I think he could really bring something good to any future guns music. WIth his writing and producing background I think he could be a real asset. I also think any music he brings to the table is gonna have more of a classic gnr sound to it. I know a lot of you dis like him but does anybody else agree with me?

Let's see first what music he'll bring on the table.

I have to say no, based on Ashba's previous musical endeavours. I agree that he will bring a more 80's sound to Guns, but not a Guns N' Roses sound. Guns were (just!) different enough from the rest of the hair metal bands to be judged as something different I think, but Ashba has never done anything to prove himself in the same ballpark as Guns were. I worry about his writing input to be honest. But what do I know - I've not heard what he is supposedly working on.
How about a pint of me?

How can someone be in a studio recording material if they were touring SA and now US? If they want to spend like... 3, 4 days in the studio, ok. But I doubt the main focus of the band would be studio output. There isn't coherence at all, just like everything DJ has been saying over the past months.
So...? Everyone knows that some band members mentioned at some point that they were planning to tour but in the end it didn't happen. Do you think they're still stupid enough to talk about GNR plans like DJ is doing? Sorry, but the only pathetic promotion whore on the band is DJ, not Bumblefoot or Tommy.

I wish Ashba would just SHUT THE FUCK UP already because he made several fans wait for a new record when in fact nothing proves that it'll come out really soon. Fans were expecting an album this years and it didn't happen. We don't know when the album will come out (or if it ever will since Axl doesn't seem to care about anything) but DJ saying that the main focus right now would be studio stuff isn't smart. It simply can't be truth. The band is touring and unless Axl rents a studio on every country they've played this year, Ashba is talking out of his ass.

He's an average (very, very generic) guitar player but his constant bullshit and promotion whoring (is that even a word?) makes me hate him everytime he opens his emo mouth.

I'm not trying to take a cheap shot at the guy (or any of his fans) or anything like that, but this is getting ridiculous.

Pull the proverbial banana out of your ass, We all know Bumblefoot is superior to Ashba. But it appears that Axl is hanging about Ashba more than the others in the band and working on material at least according to the lead cheerleader baz. Sure it may sound generic but at least Ashba's songs get played on the radio. Nothing against the other guys, and I am a big Bumblefoot fan, but the truth is that Ashba sells.

Chinese Democracy wasn't a comercial album and sold very well. Anything under the GNR name would sell, actually - it's just a matter of promoting the thing. What would you like to hear - Mi Amor/Ballad of Death-like of songs or Shackler's, Chinese and Riad-like songs - ballsy songs with real Hard Rock and experimental (phenomenal) guitar playing?
I don't care if it'll sell more or less. I do want to hear quality songs and Ron/Bucket can deliver it.

Radio play helps grow the fanbase. I am sorry to say that but it is true.

Again I don't really agree with you yet. The correct booklet and the Better video are not entirely off the table, as far as I know (only if new material will be released or an official cancellation from the band takes place I'll agree with you), and the cancelled concerts can as well been seen as Axl's will put through. Offcourse it wasn't all ideal and exactly as planned, but I meant it's all about whether his general goals make it or not, and they do as I see it. With his failing timemanagement I - as I said - do agree.

I agree, I guess, since I don't expect his contribution to be worse, on the contrary! I like his solos, like his stage performances too and don't really hate him for his frequent promises and his media attention (the band needs it a bit; without him the band might disapear from the world again each time they're not touring). But offcourse, we can't say anything for certain yet.

Judging by how Ron played the solo I'd give it to him. He's more than capable of doing justice to the solo - DJ's solo isn't half bad, but Ron's was much better and sounded much more beautiful.

It'll happen when it happens. No use waiting for it.
