While my knee jerk reaction is to dismiss this as more shameless cross/self promotion, whats he supposed to say?
Its nice of the guys in GNR to try and answer questions and generate goodwill even though I doubt any of them know what "the plan" is either.

Im sure DJ and the other musicians are writing new stuff all with the intention of it being used in a GNR song, it wouldnt suprise me if Axl Rose gets stuck into the piano regularly...but given the track record of GNR when it comes to new albums I call BULLSHIT on all this until we actually hear/can purchase some more unheard stuff.

After years of chinese democracy saga,  I cant bring myself to give a fuck...until Im actually listening to some unheard stuff.

If you look at every member, each one of em (exept frank that i know of) is a song writer in there own right, and i'm sure they have all written and demo'd songs they hope will be on the next record.
This is nothing new, i have heard or read in the past somewhere (forget where i'll try find it) that one of the reasons uyi 1 & 2 were a double record is that each member of the band bought in there own songs and axl felt he needed to let these members shine on these songs to stroke there ego's a little so that the band might continue, i get the feeling that this has never fully been the (axl rose show) it has been portrayed as in the media, and considering this i think that either of a few things will happen/

1, The welth of backed up material will be added too by a few new songs and released as a double album in 1 to 2 years.. or

2, A new album will be written by the current line up, resulting in a long period of time without playing live,and the album would come out in 3 or 4 years but with all new material

4, Macaroni predicament cover album is unleashed on the world, DJ comes out as gay...bumblefoot come's out as the second coming of christ and they have a light sabre style fight using dizzy's and pitmans keyboards as light sabre's ....(richard cries in corner)

Maybe but i think he does more to include the other members in this than he would otherwise need to, he must in his heart see this as a BAND otherwise he could just as easly tour as AXL or NEWGNR.

I agree with you. Look everyone complains on this forum when anyone in the band says (yes there is other stuff ) but mostly DJ which seems a little harsh sometimes. I mean dont get me wrong im not defending the guy. Just saying that you know what would you pever him 2 say (no there is no stuff at all and not coming out in the forsable future). MAYBE just maybe some ppl on this forum should stop complaing soon as they hear some gd news.

Not saying that everyone does it but it always seems 2 be the same old ppl complaing about this. And would you like more to not hear 1 single word off a member if the band for like 9 months staright or someone in the band to ACTULLY take the time 2 talk. websites/radio stations etc.

seriously guys sometimes swear some ppl just wont 2 complain on this forum. Yes we know GNR are not the most vocal of bands with plans etc never have been. and yes dont get me wrong i dont like it much myself. But thats the way it is with them. always has been always will be. So if all you guys are going 2 do is complain about (o yea there is other stuff so why has it not been let out old story) Maybe you should take a look at yourselfs and question wither you want 2 follow this band or not. If not you know were the door is. Now i know this sounds harsh. And i know most ppl on this foum are fine but do get sick and tierd of the same ppl complaining about everything. (sorry for rant)

How can someone be in a studio recording material if they were touring SA and now US? If they want to spend like... 3, 4 days in the studio, ok. But I doubt the main focus of the band would be studio output. There isn't coherence at all, just like everything DJ has been saying over the past months.

DJ knew about the tour and was talking about it before any other member acknowledged or perhaps knew about it.

So...? Everyone knows that some band members mentioned at some point that they were planning to tour but in the end it didn't happen. Do you think they're still stupid enough to talk about GNR plans like DJ is doing? Sorry, but the only pathetic promotion whore on the band is DJ, not Bumblefoot or Tommy.

I wish Ashba would just SHUT THE FUCK UP already because he made several fans wait for a new record when in fact nothing proves that it'll come out really soon. Fans were expecting an album this years and it didn't happen. We don't know when the album will come out (or if it ever will since Axl doesn't seem to care about anything) but DJ saying that the main focus right now would be studio stuff isn't smart. It simply can't be truth. The band is touring and unless Axl rents a studio on every country they've played this year, Ashba is talking out of his ass.

He's an average (very, very generic) guitar player but his constant bullshit and promotion whoring (is that even a word?) makes me hate him everytime he opens his emo mouth.

I'm not trying to take a cheap shot at the guy (or any of his fans) or anything like that, but this is getting ridiculous.
