When I read the title to this thread I was like "Woah,sweet" then to read that it was fake was a huge let down....I loved every Guns album to date and yes that includes Chinese Democracy,great album with really only one filler song,that being Scraped...Let's hope the next album (if/whenever it sees the light of day) is just as good as the Illusions albums and Chinese Democracy....Notice I never included Appetite For Destruction as in my opinion that album is always gonna be #1 to me...nothing will ever come close to that album.I hope we see at least another cd from Guns N Roses,if not two at the most...How long can Axl keep on performing before he realizes it's finally the end of the line for them...All I know is I've had the priviledge of seeing the new Guns lineup twice in my life so I'll die a happy man...
I wish I was old enough to see the original lineup but to me the new lineup is my version of the original guns since I was 8-10 yrs old in the early 90's until they broke up so for me the new lineups (2001 till the present) are my versions of the original Guns N Roses....Of course I realize that no one could mess with Slash,Axl,Duff,Matt,Steven,Izzy,Gilby and Dizzy fuckin' Reed but for me the new lineups from 2001 till now are as good as it'll get for me.
I love both the original Guns and the new Guns (2006 - now),2001-02 lineup is a forgettable lineup simply because Axl was out of shape and had trouble singing,then there was Buckethead (who's an amazing solo artist,just never fit in with the band) and Robin Finck and his horrid NIN look....loved the caveman version of him in 2006....
....I think Bumblefoot was influenced by his looks compared to what Ron looks like now....I just don't like the long beard on Ron Thal,if he kept it trimmed short to his face he'd look alright...but hey Axl is still around making good music,let's all enjoy his music,stop complaining that he's not what he used to be,that it ain't Guns N Roses...In my opinion I don't think Guns would be anywhere near successful all these years going back to the 80's if it wasn't for Axl...He's the heart and soul of the band and I couldn't see anyone else ever taking his place.I'm a huge Axl Rose fan (you can tell by my username...
) and yes he has two different sides to him,his nutcase side where he throws his tantrums and his nice guy sides like that video where he was telling fans about how Slash used to piss himself and then Axl would take his girl from him while he was passed out
......Love him or hate him Axl is one of the top 5,top 10 frontmen in rock and roll history...He may get out of hand alot but he wrote some awesome songs that made them successful and he wrote songs that the band didn't even want to perform ex: November Rain.So there you have it,my rant...love it or hate it I don't care because every one is entitled to their own opinions.
