Much, much more cliche and generic as well. That's why I wouldn't want Slash to touch it and that's why I don't want Asbha to touch the other songs. Thanks God the Aerosmith/Led raw sound isn't there anymore - it was nice then, wouldn't be nice now. Let Bucket, Ron (and Robin for that matter) do their job and make GNR unique and not another 70's wannabe band.

If you ask me I don't want Ashba to touch anything in connection with GN'R :lol:
And about Slash I dunno. He was part of GN'R when they made albums that stayed in history. Maybe he would have helped to make ChiDem a better album but on the other hand I agree that times have changed and Slash hasn't developed much since the late 80's so most probably he wouldn't.

I would be intrigued to hear what it would sound like actually. I think there is more to Slash than he lets on because he never really leaves his comfort zone, but I'm sure he could do an album like Chi Dem. I would imagine there would be a few more TWAT-esque solos than Shackler like one's though :giggle:

Chinese Democracy would probably sound more dated. At least the current band connects more the sound that's popular in nowadays rock (with a more electronic sound, keyboards etc.).
I personally don't mind Ashba's contribution for now. The things he does for Guns are great, I think (his solos, his versions of old songs), so for now I'm ok with him. The things he does in other projects are irrelevant to judge his contributions to Guns, IMO.
But then again, it's allways impossible to say what would've happened. Would Axl ever have reached the state in which he wrote these songs if Slash was there? Maybe, but not certain or even very likely. But I don't think there's a doubt that it would've been ace  :rockon:! The combination Axl - Slash allways stood for quality (yeah, offcourse there were exceptions, but their amount was insignificant to the other results)  :bow:!

yeah, lol .. you know, this album would be a damn masterpiece if slash had helped make it.. but did he, there are rumors that Slash had helped a bit on some riffs and things you know?.. but oh well, i dunno and i don't really care anymore.. they all sound old so, not like it matters.. as long as i hear Axl Rose fucking sing then i don't got a problem who the guitarist is.. that's my oppinion LOL.. what's yours ??

If Slash was on the album it would probably sound bluesier... his solos would probably fit into most of the songs of the album. I can imagine his solos would probably sound great in the songs like Street of Dreams or Catcher in the Rye.

But the album is great as it is.
