If slash was on Chinese Democracy
« on: October 06, 2011, 12:50:14 AM »
So i put out there if Slash was on Chinese Democracy and the Guitar work (which for the most part i feel Slash is not skilled enough to do) :paranoid: sounded the same hell if the whole album sounded the fucking same people would love the album all those Axl haters would flock in support of CD and think its the greatest Guns album ever they would probably say its a masterpiece reminiscent of the Illusions era I'm sure people will agree with some or all of this and there will be people who absolutely hate what i have said here  but just think about it Slash or no Chinese Democracy is an amazing album also slash isn't the, Be all and End all the Band, many bands have gone through significant line up changes Iron maiden have only two original members left from their first album and only one original  member from before that and none of their fans are bothered...

Yeah, this should be fun. I don't see the point in this thread to be honest.
I hope, I do not wait.

To highlight Hypocrisy of Some fans and cause a debate on the issue of Slash....

You do know Slash left the band in 1996, right? There's posters on here who were still shitting in nappies, I honestly don't think they care too much.
I hope, I do not wait.

I don't think relating the changes in GNR to the ones in Iron Maiden is fair. The current Maiden is responsible for the majority of their legacy, so the changes aren't very significant in that point of view.
But I agree on the whole "people-are-negative-because-slash-is-gone-and-therefore-don't-give-the-band-a-fair-chance-thing".
"If an album comes out, then buy it. If there's a concert you can go to, go to it. You're not owed another record, you're not owed any inside stories, you're not owed the band to be managed by people you approve. It's just electronically recorded vibrations you happen to like." (quoting Jplpool)

It would've sounded probably like every song he's done post-GNR; ie. nothing near the quality of the shit he did with G&R.

Same goes for Axl & CD, but CD had moments of brilliance. When I say brilliance I mean original G&R brilliance, worthy of sitting alongside the greats. But then a few major fuck ups like Scraped.

Nah man, I reckon if Slash was on it his playing would be at his Guns levels of awesome. Just because Axl would not have sat back and said 'yeah, that one was ok, we'll use that take'. He'd have made sure it was fucking perfect.
How about a pint of me?

i think axl would have made slash do a 100 takes per solo and then cut the snippets together with pro tools to the point where they were so mental slash could not pull em off live.

on a side note i like slash but to every die hard slash fan out there who hates axl for being the only member in gnr left,i point out that slash did the same thing with snakepit (all be it on a much smaller scale) two albums two complete differant bands with him at the center as axl is with gnr.

anyway he would have been epic on the blues an maddy

perhapps a more interesting question is how would of CD sounded with izzy?

Fall to Pieces, Loving the Alien, Slither, Superhuman, Good to Be Alive, Beggars & Hangers-On, Mean Bone, etc.

Both Slash and Axl still have their moments of brilliance.

I was going to add it on the list, but, to the best of my recollection, it was the only song on Contraband that wasn't written by VR. I might be wrong.

What if? What a useless thread! On the other hand what else is there to talk about since no new material shows up  :coffee

Edited: or is it useful to bash Slash? He does not let his fans down and shows up on time with respect for his fans who did pay to attend his gigs. And he's productive and does enjoy life. The most brilliant thing to do in life for everyone no matter what you do.

You are wrong.

Slash did have moment of brilliance in his post-Guns career, but I would agree he never reached that magical thing again.
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think
