And which reasons, may i ask?

The change of musical direction or other non-guns interests, not willing to tour a lot, not willing to be in a big band, excessive drug use (mainly talking about the "old members" now)...

I wouldn't forget either that several people somehow came back to Guns (Izzy, Duff, Matt (?)). And several that haven't come back are willing to return (Slash, Steven), even to reunite (allthough I can't say that is their nr. 1 goal).
If an album comes out, then buy it. If there's a concert you can go to, then go to it. You're not owed another record. You're not owed any inside stories. You're not owed the band to be managed by people you approve. It's just electronically recorded vibrations that you happen to like.

Nah, I stdied Psychology for two years at college, I kind of agree with Freud's idea of represseddesires and images, but I don't agree that it's all sexual, as he seems to suggest. The most annoying thing about Psychology and all the theories I learnt is that although there is strong evidence for each theory, there is jst as much evidence against it.

Example: Freud suggests dreams are hidden, symblic sexual desires. This could be seen as true in Freud's time, as sex was not widely discussed and seen as a very 'private' thing, so people would therefore have to repress their ideas and urges, which then come out in dream form. However, it's known that foetuses in a mother's womb dream...now what do they dream about, why would it be sexual, and why would it be symbolic?

Indeed, needy scientific proves for Freud's theories fail, but it inspired many (and interested me too a bit actually), I think mainly because they can be used in so many cases. Everything can be linked to sex if you try hard enough, even to the sexual theories Freud (re)created. Like on this forum: a certain forum member here longs for a reconnection with the motherly womb. He searches this in the person of our mothers, but only to remeber the former ideal union with his own mommy  :love2: .The fact that he is a terrible father is also relevant. Fathers are the adversaries of the children, for he tries to unite with the mother and therefore interferes in the natural mother-child union.

I to see more arguments to believe in his repressing theories than in the sexual dimensions of all actions. His dream analyses are mostly bullocks too, I think. But I'll stop the scientific crap, let's get back to the theme of this thread  :).

I'm sure nobody wants this answer but take a look at most of the LA Metal bands from the 80s. Most of the ones that are still active today usually only include one founding member, that member is usually the lead singer. The ones that include most of the original members were the ones who never made it "superstar" level. Yeah there are a couple of "superstar" LA Metal bands that include all (or most) of the original/classic lineup but you can tell that if the money wasn't flowing in they wouldn't be caught in the same room together.

Hmm, Metallica must have done something right then?

As for Freud he also thought that coke wasn't addictive but died on bad coke.

2 be honest, don't wanna discuss about the "old" line up.
I wanna talk mainly about Finck (!), Buckethead, Freese and so on.
Ok, i've heard very good reasons here, but the fact, that NO ONE ever talks about their exit in the press makes me wondering - are they scared? Aren't they allowed to talk?

Freese, Finck, Bucket, Brain - these four are very responsible for some chinese democracy parts, Axl mentioned 2006 at Hammerstein before "Better" - "This is a Robin Song" - the solo on TIL for example - unforgettable!

As some clever guy already mentioned, Freese was very responsible for the song "chinese democracy", the parts of Buckethead we don't have to discuss. Everybody who knows the old demo - and hears know the solo from TWAT on it, incredible.

So - it's a kind of mystical thing why they are all gone.

I am very pleased with Ashba and Frank, it's really not a fuckin' Axl Bashing, i was just wondering why it seems to be impossible to keep good persons together.
hell "freud" might say that's what i need - but all i ever really get is greed. ("right next door to hell")

Got your point, i am for sure not searching for people who talk random shit.

Seems like i am the only one who wonders why no one of the old members talks about their split with the best band in the world.

We will see a great performance soon, perhaps with new songs? Or at least a fuckin' great TWAT performance.

I'd love that to happen but it most probably won't  :smirk: New songs :hmpf I personally doubt that to happen, too.

Yeah, I think you do have a point there.

Freese talked as far as I know - and said he can't tell any bad things about Axl and how he always was nice and generous. (Not what people wanna hear, which is why it didn't make "big news".)

Finck had already "left" for a while to tour with NIN - no big surprise he left again, I just think he's a guy who has to do what he wants and follow his own road. (Not sure if he did any interviews since he left?)

Buckethead never talks much, does he? Someone once said, even while he was in the band, he didn't know what Bucket thought or felt or anything. (Might have to do with hiding behind mask and puppets?)

These "reasons" are all just my humble opinion of course, can't offer you more, due to lack of official sources.

I was curious and googled a bit, thus I found this on Freese and Axl:
http://www.spinner.com/2009/03/27/guns-n-roses-drummer-defends-axl-rose/

Also, via a facebook page about R. Finck I learned that he's become a father this year, so I guess he's got better things to do than thinking about GN'R.
His own website still says "new site coming soon".

Estranged would be amazing
Dead Horse would be alright but can't see it happening
Don't Damn Me was never played by the old band so can't see them playing it now. (Only song from UYI 1 not to be played, quite a shame IMO)
