Good interview! He definitely seems to stay busy. If I could've added a question it would've been about his producing career, the question being if he considers it his main job now. He's produced/mixed a Vains of Jenna record (The Demos album), the debut single by Hotel Diablo as well as his solo albums just to name a few.

Estranged was not a hit single

Now you're talking semantics. A songs that is perceived in the eyes of fans and other rock enthusiasts as one the best Guns N' Roses songs ever (confirmed by the recent poll about Use Your Illusion records) is a hit single to me.

Estranged is no Billie Jean in terms of charting. I highly doubt you can determine the amount of airplay Estranged got.

The fact remains it is one of the most recognizable Guns N' Roses songs and it helped increase the sales of a record, which was the basic point of my argument.

Did you understand my point regarding the songs I mentioned from a particular album? I think you must have, because otherwise we're in a dead end.

Now you wanna talk technicalities (that are also unrelated to out primary debate) because I oppose your idea of the name being the reason for less respected or commercially successful album. All of a sudden we're not talking about Gilby or music itself, we're talking whether we can label Estranged a hit-single or not. A fucking joke.

I would consider the most "successful" song on Chinese Democracy to be the title track, but it's definitely not the strongest song on the album.

It is to me...and without Ron's guitar it would be 100x better. Madagascar is the only one that contend with CD for epicness.
