The Diet Thread
« on: June 26, 2011, 11:14:03 PM »
While it may be true that a lifestyle change is usually preferred  to going "on a diet" because often people lose weight on a diet only to put it back on because they don't know how to keep it off afterward , diets still have their time and place and can be useful as a tool .

What are some of the diets you have tried and your experiences with them ?

Wasn't sure which section to put this in , but sports/health/fitness/dieting seem to go hand-in-hand

Pierre Ducan's protein diet works for me. I've been following it since 2008. I shed 20 kilos  & I've maintained the weight I achieved then. It's not the best diet in the world- you eat mainly proeteins & veg & it's not good for your heart & kidneys but it did its job for me & I'm in good shape. Lately I'm on a cig diet mostly :smirk:

Diets. Why are they always about "losing" or "gaining" weight? I have never ever followed any particular diet but I certainly watch what I eat and why. Same goes for certain food supplements. I drink do and everything (or some things) that god has forbidden in a very, very moderated way.

But since I saw Beyonce live from Glasto last night I thought for the first time in my life: "Shall I go to the gym then?" Wowsa!

Just trying to eat 'pure' foods, and no really fibrous stuff. No processed either.

I dont believe in diets.

I think that the key is to eat a little bit of everything. and by "everything" I mean healthy foods, mostly fruits and vegetables.

Depends on your metabolism. When younger, I ate like horse and was as skinny as ever. With age metabolism slows down. But people are different. Some need some kind of a diet, some don't.

And this isn't a diet?

maybe it is... but I was rather thinking about the *organized* diets, the ones that tell you exactly what to eat and how much of it. like: have a tea with no sugar for breakfast with a toast and diet jam. Then have a roll of ham at 10 AM, for lunch have 300 gms of rice, etc

Bit late, sorry.  :shy:
But really, a women needs a bit of love handles. How the hell are we supposed to hang on otherwise?  :hmpf
No, but really, just read an article (yeah yeah, cliché, I know). According to it, 89% of all (Dutch) men prefer that their women have some nice curves.
