Yeah like Kung Fu. But not Kung Fu. I want a martial art that's going to help me kick fuck out of any dick on the street that wants to throwdown (many of them in Aberdeen). I'm looking at Krav maga or some shit like that.
How about a pint of me?

Let me tell you a secret. Unless you're an israeli commando, the chances of you finding a good krav maga instructor are slim to none. Best option is BJJ, bar none.

brazillian jujitsu, i mean, if you can take someone down, which isn't that hard, you have the advantage. Other than that just train with a punching bag or something

Well I was also looking at Muay Thai. I'm definately going to do something useful anyway, but I'm going to need to do more research into it first.

I used to study at the Academy of Ninjitsu but that was as a kid.
Apparently a new Amy Winehouse 'Greatest Hits' collection is coming out, but the tinfoil and spoons aren't included.

The thing with a lot of these martial arts is that they rely too much on standing up. If some guy rushes you and take you down on the ground (easier than it sounds, which is why mma is 90% ground work), a person trained only in muay thai would be pretty much defenseless.

But then again, I'm talking practicalities here, I'm imagining scenarios where you're attacked at night by some guy :ninja:

At physiotherapy I do the following:

For hip, thigh, and knee strengthen:
Side leg lifts with 4 lbs - 3 series of 30 repeats
Sidelying adductor leg lifts with 4 lbs- 3 series of 15 repeats
Side leg swings with 4 lbs - 3 series of 30 repeats
side leg lifts, knee bent with 1lb - 3 series of 12 repeats

For calves strengthen:
Stand on the tip of your toes - 10 times for 30 seconds each
Stand on one leg while the other kicks back and forth - 30 repeats
And about 5 minutes on a bongo board like this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNrGL66mg0A

For back, shoulders, and arms strengthen:
On your back stretch out your left arm while your right arm is holding your leg bent upwards - 6 repeats

And that pretty much covers your whole body bones  :D

There is that. Krav Maga would be fucking ace, but like you said, it's finding someone good enough to teach it.

Best option, move to Gaza for a year, if you survive, you essentially learned krav maga :P

I admire you  I had to do physiotherapy for my hand and it was a drag. Hope you get better and your condition doesn't bother you much  :mwa

Thanks hehe it's something you have to live with like Artritis (SP) no biggie  :) I don't enjoy going to physiotherapy myself  :yuck I wish I didn't have to, but it is what it is so I force myself into it.
