CANASTOTA, NY - DECEMBER 7, 2010 - The International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum announced today the newest class of inductees to enter the Hall. Living inductees include three-division champion Julio Cesar Chavez (Mexico), junior welterweight champion Kostya Tszyu (Russia / Australia), heavyweight champion Mike Tyson (USA), trainer Ignacio “Nacho” Beristain (Mexico), referee Joe Cortez (USA) and screenwriter Sylvester Stallone (USA).

I know. Oddly enough, I was waiting for someone to defend it and I was going to destroy their argument by saying 'well then lets award the congressional medal of honour to Spielberg and Hanks for Saving Private Ryan' but you got in before me. I wonder what the other guys in the hall of fame think.

Maybe after hearing Stallone speak, they thought that he HAD to have been a boxer previously.  Punch drunk is an apt phrase to describe him.


In all seriousness, when people like that are inducted to a hall of fame, it shits on the credibility of said hall of fame and insults all of the geniuine, deserving fighters.

Stallone did not get inducted into the Hall of Fame just because of Rocky.  He has done alot of things for the sport of boxing over the years.

I'd wager, takng into account comparitive wealth, that I know people who have done far more for the sport of boxing.

Wager all you like, the bottom line is Stallone caught inducted into the hall of fame deal with it. Not to mention the impact that the Rocky movies have had on the sport and the people who grew up wanting to be a boxer because of them.

I've got nothing against Sly. I just think it's retarded. How can Sly be treated as Tyson's equal in the sport of boxing. It's demeaning to people who have spent a lifetime working within the sport. Imo.
