I would be quietly confident of a Northern Irish gig.

Axl is partially Irish and has performed in Ireland with Guns N' Roses in 1992, 2006 and twice in 2010 - bit of a questionable sentiment of yours isn't it (Axl would be very stupid to dislike an entire people over the conduct of a tiny few)?

nah, he hates America more. Doing shows for south American sluts and not doing any for us fat American sluts. I'm outraged.
This is simply a revenge mission by the US on Libya.  This will teach them a lesson for attacking Doc Emmett Brown in Back to the Future....... Damn Libyans

I would say Axl was in a bad mood even prior to the '10 Dublin gig as the night before when a bag of all things were thrown at him banter was actually provoked as opposed to a warning and a subsequent "walk-off". There's obviously the possibility Axl will hold it against the Dublin crowd (he done it with Newcastle) but hopefully he'll realise there's loads of very genuine Irish Guns fans, and so if presented with the opportunity, would play a southern Irish gig again.

There was actually a rather interesting rumour Axl travelled back upto Belfast after Dublin because he enjoyed it so much. :smoking:

In the online "chats" he had with fans, Axl stated that the Newcastle incident would not mean the band would shun Newcastle in the future, because of some mindless morons in the minority.  With this in mind, i highly doubt it will cause him to shun Ireland.

They also played in Montreal again. It took a couple of years (like 18), but there are chances .

In all reality, if the O2 don't book GNR again as a result, where else in the Republic can they play?

Oxegen, electric picnic? I can't see either happening.

They will probably play in the North and say that is the Irish leg done.

They could play in the field. You know the one on Craggy island? Well its not really a field, but it has less rocks in it than most places.
How about a pint of me?

That gig was one of the most disappointing experiences of my life.

Spent 90 quid on tickets, 40 on a train ticket for the day, and a further 30 on booze. All for some drunk asshole to ruin the evening for everyone. The first 3 or 4 songs were an absolute blast which makes the whole thing worse, made the whole thing feel like the evening was wasted potential. If Guns do decide to play in Ireland again, be it here or up North, I'll still go regardless.

I've wondered about the bad apples who spoil it for other people, like your experience, Justin5150. I can easily imagine members of the audience around someone flinging missiles onto a stage tearing the guy apart. I would. It's a dangerous thing to do at any show (unless it's ladies' unmentionables he/she is throwing). Why is it accommodated by the other fans? never mind the artists.

I was thinking about going to that gig in Ireland. I'm glad I gave up the idea in the end.
If GN'R tour Europe again, they'll probably drop at England & Ireland. English press just loves Axl. Most probably he won't miss the chance to give them material for nice articles & Ireland is just a stones throw away anyway and people there love him too. Besides they make nice quality plastic bottles in Ireland

I read in a paper that "a fat, bloated, past it Axl rose is bringing his freakshow of a band to England" last year.  So not all of the English press love him.  They also said his vocal performances at Reading were "god awful" and that he should be on his knees begging Slash to rejoin him, whilst he still has a tiny bit of credibility left"

That is better than the US press- "Guns N' Rose singer Izzy Rose brings Gun And Rose on tour in US in support of Illusion Democracy which was released after a five year pause"

The English press is surely nice & friendly to him. Not that they are not right about some of the things they say. That about Slash was a good one
