I'd rather hear stuff like this from Tommy rather than DJ
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Fuck you, whore.

Johan is not nuts. At least not anymore nuts than the rest of us. He is ruled by his own psychology, which includes jealousy that he cannot sing that high.

There's another one, found via Tommy's twitter:

What's really surprising is that he talks about the recording of CD in a very critical way. (I think Axl lay some blame on Iovine too, in one of his rare interviews...)

Quote
My summation of the whole thing is that Interscope, when they took over Geffen, really led Axl to believe that Jimmy Iovine would be involved, and would help get this record done and make it happen. But basically what he did was let it completely fall apart. Then he had this great idea to bring in [producer] Roy Thomas Baker to make it sound better. All he did was re-record everything three or four different times, trying to make it sound like something it didn’t need to sound like, and spend $10 million in the process. My two cents on the whole thing is that I really think Jimmy Iovine fucked the whole thing up.

It was a bummer. Most of the songs that are on the record now were done 10 fucking years ago. But all the talking heads in the mix were saying, “Make ’em sound better! Make ’em sound better!” So we kept redoing this and that. And it ended up coming back down to the same fucking songs that they were 10 years ago, except that now they were a super-dense mishmash of a bunch of instrumentation. That whole era pretty much sums up what happened to the record industry. Those kinds of people, making those kinds of decisions and not really helping the artist.

With all modesty, this page tends to be pretty quickly updated with news on the current members: http://gnr-afd.forumotion.com/f9-current-members

And this on former members: http://gnr-afd.forumotion.com/f10-former-members (There's a cool recent interview with Duff there, too).

I find it weird how he describes his beginning with Guns N' Roses. Almost as if he joined just for a joke to see what he'll do next with his career.

That sums it up for me, they way I see most of the individuals in the new band. Being in GN'R gives them an opportunity to promote themselves and at the same time they make tons of money by touring. People coming and going are quite random. That's why DJ Ashba joined, there's no queue of people waiting to join this band.

Tommy knew Josh and came on board, Brain knew Buckethead and got in, Ferrer came in through Fortus.

I also find it weird that after almost 15 years he's still not as comfortable with the singer in his suppose primary band. It can't be attributed to the length of their friendship, but to personal features that makes you get along better with someone else. That's completely undestandable. I just thought Tommy is the most comfortable in Guns.
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think
Oh by the way, which one's Pink?

GNR has descended to a bunch of mouthpieces drip-feeding the fans with so-called "plans". None of which have ever transpired. I'm really just getting bored of this constant revolving door of manure. I love GNR, but the band has become a soap opera. A laughing stock of music....

2 years ago, former "spokesman/douche/mouthpiece/just cos Axl couldn't be arsed opening his bloody mouth" Sebatian Bach announced that "Sorry" was the heaviest Doom Metal track he ever heard..... obviously he wasn't in class the day Anathema and My Dying Bride thought us scholars about algebra....  That guy is an idiot. Just check out his episode of MTV Cribs for proof. An idiot, a total idiot!

Bach then proceeds to recount tales of how Axl has 2 albums worth of material "just lying around".....

Since then, Bach has been disposed of....

Enter: Yes-Man, Fanboy, "DJ Ashba"....who now claims there's 3, no less, 3 albums "ready to go".

100% manure. Just release the bloody songs already!!!!

Let the fans decide if it's good enough, or not!

Hell.....if it's that "shit", then invite the fans to remix the tracks the damn songs...and let the best remixes get officially released (a la NIN's Year Zero fan-remix album) online

Same thing goes for the live DVD!

Set up a load of cameras in the arena. Film EVERYTHING. Release the footage online, and let the fans produce it. Once again, a la NIN.

What pisses me off is the fact that Axl decides "this is shit, its not perfect....so no one will ever hear it!!!!!" where I reckon he should just release it (ok, if it's that bad just throw some downloadable mp3s on the GNR site, and let the fans remix/modify if necessary...)

The whole "my way or the highway" vibe that Axl has goin on, sucks! We all love this band, we're starving for more...we really dont care if its deemed as "shite" by Axl, we have brains - let us decide for ourselves...

Axl needs to wake up, cut the crap and give the fans (who have stuck with him through thick and thin) what they want, and what they/we deserve

His approach is overtly selfish imo. All it would take is a blog post saying: "Workin on a new track, something's missing....what do ye think?"

But no..... why would he do that!? Instead, he chooses to disappear off the face of the planet, send a clueless self-promoting "rock star" in to be the voice of the band....who just spouts a few teasing blubberings around "we're working on some really great stuff" "Hey, check out my cool clothes....or my hot chick....or my makeup...all available for affordable prices on my "weird" and "demented" website.

"He's like....such a tortured artist ....and like.....stuff....s eriously, he can only express himself through his music.... ....like....ommm... ommm....like....yea h....mom....look at his cool tats too.....wow, he is so demended.....fighti ng his demons.....bad childhood..."

IDIOT!

I love GNR with everything I got. Hell, I got my ass kicked by scumbag "ravers" when I was 13 cos I was wearing an Appetite T-Shirt, when I should've been sporting a technotronic shell suit...or some shit...

But recently I'm beginning to get slightly annoyed with all this mysterious/soap opera/smoke and mirrors shit.

And, if you are reading this, Axl, cut the bullshit....for once and for all.

I'll conclude by saying..... I've stuck with this band since 1989, but my patience is really beginning to be tested. If the Rock in Rio Ferdinand setlist doesn't contain anything new, I'm done. I'm done with you, I'm done with this circus of a band....and all the nonsense that surrounds it!

Robin was right. He was right about everything! He spoonfed you the best rock track of the 00's, but what did you do?!?!?! Not even a lousy video...no...nothin g. It just pretty much sums it all up..... endless potential, wasted.

RANT OVER!

It kinda explains why Tommy Stinson always seems to me kinda not belonging to the band when on stage. At least to me he seems somehow out of place as if he's there by the way. Or maybe he's just that way.

Some things are true and somewhere you're just way off, especially since you have ni idea how this machinery works. Or better yet, why it doesn't work.

I'm confused by this:

Quote
But recently I'm beginning to get slightly annoyed with all this mysterious/soap opera/smoke and mirrors shit.

Everything surrounding this band has been a soap opera pretty much since 1999. If anything, the recent comments indicate that something might actually happen in the near future.

They released a record, they have toured. I know Axl isn't, but the rest of the band is giving out interviews. Unfortuantely they have no credibility.

I don't understand why they would have to play a new song in Rock In Rio. It's not like they're doing you harm. I want them to be more active too, especially Axl, but at the same time I completely understand why he doesn't want to get involved in this shitty business called the music biz. Because it sucks.

He could do more for the fans for sure, at least let us know what's going on. I think that failed plans have a lot to do with his fall outs with the record label, managers, Jimmy Iovine, promoters. That makes planning of a tour and the whole business aspect of a brand new record (with the egos involved) a lenghty process.
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think
