The reality you or Adriana or anybody else aren't overly enthusiastic about the sound of "Chinese Democracy" doesn't dispute the fact lots of people are (indeed people are continually discovering its brilliance - including renowned biz personnel like David Wild). Truth is I've tried all varieties of material over the past few years and nothing has impacted upon me more than "Chinese Democracy" - my perception is no less or more than yours and the same applies to that musical "majority" who regard the sixth Guns studio album as a total "failure".
Well I don't think anyone should take note of the majority of the fans saying it was a failure as I feel the majority of the old GnR fans where just waiting for the album so they could call it a failure. Their opinions aren't valid as they were just out to run the album down from the offset. Personally, I was really excitied about the released, it the reason I started posting here again, and I was willing to listen to it and judge it on it's merits. Sadly for me, it just wasn't the album I had hoped and there were too many tracks that I didn't care for.
So how exactly is a subjective taste in music related to any of the issues you adressed regarding Chinese Democracy and subsequent touring? What do expectations, 14 years, sporadic touring got to do with the quality of the music? But I bet that is of great importance for a suggestive mind. Judging by your words it obviously had a great impact on your perception of the record.
Exactly, my perception... I'm stating my view on the album just as everyone else is. At no point have I said is factually an underwhelming album as that's not for me to say. I have clearly stated my opinion on it. Emphasis on MY and OPINION
