As far as I know, this little tour (there was also a stop in Paris I believe) was the last one yes. However, prior to these dates he had been to Europe in the early 90's. Fact remains that his appearances in Europe were scarce...

I used to post on his forum asking if/when it'd ever happen. :'(

I'm not such a big listener to his music anymore but I'd be more than thrilled to throw a fortnights wage at him to see him play.

He's only a shadow of his former self.... not well at all.....

I still admire Bucket for his unique approach (the superhero thing). However, musically speaking (whether he's in good shape or not) he lost me quite a few years ago; too many patterns, too repetitive, too much Slonimsky, too much Gilbert (nondecatuplet ideas), too much Pebber Brown...etc... But hey, that's just my opinion. He's a great guy and performer, that's for sure....

I tend to agree with you, I have yet to catch him live and that may sway my opinion but lately I have grown into Bumble's music more. Buckethead is getting slightly repetitive for me but no doubt the guy is a beast.

Why not? His voice, or just his playing overall?

Well, not many Europeans can say they have seen Buckethead live, let alone live outside the context of GNR. Same goes for Bumblefoot. I'm happy and very lucky to be one of the exceptions.

I can honestly say that both are amazing on their own, but in different ways. Buckethead still fascinates me with his carefully constructed eerie alter ego (there to entertain, explain and to empower). And quite a few instrumental beauties in an enormous discography. With Bumblefoot you get truly otherworldly and unique virtuosity both in chops as in composition, carefully wrapped into a mix of standup comedy, raw emotion and heartwarming sincerity. A guy who puts everything he has in terms of talent, personality, passion and personal experiences into his music. Resulting in a smaller discography that (in my opinion) holds more gems.

I'm not sure exactly how much Buckethead has been limited by varying physical problems in the past years. From people close to him I've heard, numerous times, that he has a fragile health. And I’m not just talking about carpal tunnel syndrome. It was quite obvious during his most recent live performances. A befriended up and coming guitar player has had some conversations with Shawn Lane’s mom. Besides inviting him to come look at Shawn’s stuff, she also told him that Buckethead had been going through some rough times. Buckethead is the biggest Lane-fan ever.

Both.

Theres no denying that he can play like a fucking demon, but I find his songs to be pretty lame...reminds me of Limp Bizkit and a lame Frank Zappa at the same time.
