I read somewhere a while ago that Tommy was playing the South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) so I figured he'd do more shows instead of that one so far from home. I don't remember the date of the festival exactly - I was trying to figure if there was time for GNR to record anything between tour legs and if performances by band members in other acts would imply no time therefore no new recording taking place.

First-rate graphic design on that poster.
I have no idea where the show is, likely very far from me, but I'd love that poster mounted on foam-core next to the one I bought from Tommy's website that now hangs in my dining room as second choice to seeing Tommy perform solo again. Kudos to the designer, the venue, Uli for sharing and what-the-hell, Tommy too.

From his homepage:

Tommy's Daytrotter session is up for grabs!

Head on over to Daytrotter to get a unique take on four songs from One Man Mutiny that Tommy recorded down in Austin during SXSW last March. Featuring Emily Jane Roberts on vocals, Chip Roberts on slide guitar & lap steel, Tim “Schwingo” Schweiger on guitar, Marc Solomon on guitar & bass, and Jon Phillip on drums.

I didn't either, but I was tempted.

Apparently a new Soul Asylum album has just been released (July 2012).
Does anyone happen to know if Tommy Stinson has done bass duties on this studio album?
(The Soul Asylum website lists him as part of the present band, but there's another bassist listed, possibly for those gigs which Tommy can't make due to other commitments.)

Violets are blue
Fuck you, whore.

Johan is not nuts. At least not anymore nuts than the rest of us. He is ruled by his own psychology, which includes jealousy that he cannot sing that high.

Damn straight. Kev, you are a man of class and taste.

I would love to see a Stinson solo gig though; his music is great. It won't ever happen, since I live in the civilised world and he only ever crosses the pond with GnR.  Oh well.
I think it is high time for a bit of class around here, don't you?

Well, he had some European dates at the time of his first solo album in 2004. (Didn't catch him, was all too far away, but keep hoping to one day...)
