Of course he has no clue. He never did. He drove this counrty into deeper shit than it already was.
His only excuse is blaming Bush. And his supporters, being the dim-witted, dip shits, believe him.

His supporters are turning against him as well. He's doing exactly what Bush did, and they're fed up. He's taking us into a war that will have good outcome, win or lose. The economy is still in chaos, and the money that's going to be spent will cripple us.
This is simply a revenge mission by the US on Libya.  This will teach them a lesson for attacking Doc Emmett Brown in Back to the Future....... Damn Libyans

I've been reading this whole thread. You made quite a turn, Dr. Jack.

I still think the intervention was a better idea than doing nothing at all. The alternative was a bloodbath in Benghazi and Misurata.

I will only believe links with Al-qaeda if I see prove of it. The reports of ethnic cleansing of the Black Libyans sounds very disturbing though. Hopefully those rebels can see the difference between mercenaries and civilians.

Also the whole left-right democrat/republican discussion can it be held out for once? Obviously Obama isn't exactly happy about this mission, he realizes that it's going to very complicated to come out of it in a good way, as people have pointed out above.

Quote
Heinsohn cites a report by the well-known Zimbabwean journalist and documentary filmmaker Farai Sevenzo dealing with barbaric, pogrom-like massacres perpetrated by the so-called “rebels” against black African workers in Libya. The article states:

“Because mercenaries from Chad and Mali are presumed to be fighting for him [Gaddafi], the lives of a million African refugees and thousands of African migrants are at risk. A Turkish construction worker told the British radio station BBC: ‘We had seventy to eighty people from Chad working for our company. They were massacred with pruning shears and axes, accused by the attackers of being Gaddafi’s troops. The Sudanese people were massacred. We saw it for ourselves.’ ”

Yeah I did didn't i?

I wanted the murder and bloodshed to stop, and i wanted Qaddafi out. I genuinely thought we were intervening for the good of the Libyan people. However, i started to look at the facts, and I didn't like what I saw, which was the potential repeat of history.

I believe that the beginning protests were genuine, but has since been hijacked or manipulated by the very people we hope to stop. What's the point of overthrowing one dictator and replacing him with another?

It's the mujahdieen all over again.

I do not agree with the intervention since 'we' have no clue who these rebels really are do 'we'? No, 'we' don't.

And as for all the blood shedding and mass killings; do 'we' care about Ivory Coast? As 'we' did care about Rwanda? No, 'we' don't and didn't give/gave a fuck!

And whoever the president of the mighty US is; does it really matter, does it make a difference? No way. It's always the same old story.

Oh yeah, her that thought North Korea was a close friend and ally of the US? Man, she cracks me up. I think the most ridiculous one was that tweet she posted about the radio DJ that said n**ger 11 times in 5 minutes when she quit her show:

"Dr. Laura: don't retreat...reload!"
How about a pint of me?

  LOL!!!

I don't think anything in the world happening matters as long as the powers that be don't decide to let the worlds "economy" crumble.

Its ridiculous how LITTLE power the people have anywhere, unless you take up arms and cause bloodshed.

I'm going to go against the "norm" on this one and openly state that I hope Gaddafi is either successful against Western imperialism or fights a bitter, and prolonged war of resistance. The underlying agendas to this so called "liberation" by far outweigh any "legitimacy".

It has gone beyond protecting the people of Libya and the allies are quite clearly trying to control the outcome of this civil war. I'm with Russia who say the allies have gone beyond what they agreed to do. Lets not forget Vietnam started with having 'millitary advisors' entering the country. The allies clearly want Gaddafi gone and the rebels are not up to the job. In any war the weaker side loses and the rebels are the weaker side here.

I don't know what the allies want. N.A.T.O has said that their goal is to not oust Qaddafi. Obama has said that the US is not fighting another war, yet STILL has jets in the air AND he has just approved the use of Drones (and plus NATO is commanded by an American).

I don't know anymore, and I'm starting to not care anymore. Let the rebels die or let Qaddafi die, who cares?

best case scenario?

Gaddafi is left to rule, rebels are crushed without western help, Gaddafi signs peace treaty with all nations who instigated war on Libya, trade lines are opened fully with the west, UN or US forces establish a military base close to Tripoli and/or Benghazi, human rights charges are dropped against Gaddafi.

ideally that's what our best case scenario is...however with so many sides involved all wanting different outcomes the most likely event is increased involvement until we put men on the ground, take land at massive cost to human life on both sides, kill or dethrone gaddafi, set up a puppet ruler, rebels will attack him and any attempts to stabilise the country in the belief that we are attempting to invade, we stay to try to fight back and it lasts 10 years with no real results either way.

A Nato air strike in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, has killed the son of the Libyan leader, Colonel Gaddafi, a government spokesman has said.

Colonel Gaddafi himself was in the large residential villa which was hit by the strike, the spokesman added, but he was unharmed.

His son Saif al-Arab was killed, as well as three of his grandsons.

Journalists say the building was extensively damaged and one unexploded bomb remains at the site.

Government spokesman Moussa Ibrahim said the villa was attacked "with full power."

"The attack resulted in the matyrdom of brother Saif al-Arab Gaddafi, 29 years old, and three of the leader's grandchildren," he said.

"The leader with his wife was there in the house with other friends and relatives, the leader himself is in good health, he wasn't harmed."

"This was a direct operation to assassinate the leader of this country," the spokesman added.

Saif al-Arab was the youngest of Muammar Gaddafi six sons.
