LOL...

Did you read that in the Cuban times with the Castro editing?

So Cuba is soooooo good that people risk their lives by the hundreds and thousands every year, get on a piece of wood with a sail, travel through shark infested waters with 25 families per 8X8 "boat" just to reach the good old USA?

That good there huh?

~S~

cause they dunno how life abroad is

Andy haven't had Cuba history at uni. She studied almost anything at uni but Cuba history was not one of her many classes.

as a matter of fact, I did. But I think travelling is the best history teacher! and I trust in what my aunt told me after she came back from her holidays there.

I know this bitch,
she's such a bore.
If she weren't a witch,
she could be a whore.

You went to university? :O The argentina educational system must be desperate

besides the fact that andy rose has not provided a single iota of undisputed fact, well actually i got nothing, because apparently facts don't mean much to her.

I shudder to think what horrible country argentina is, teaching their kids to disregard facts au lieu of their own made up opinions

:)  at least we have one thing in common: the opinion about each other.

what FACTS do you want me to post? I dont have a document signed by Obama where he states that he's attacking to take the oil  :retard:

seriously kid, what proves should I post? I already provided the link which is my source of information. If I say that I heard on the news that "Japan's prime minister begged for international aid", I aint lying. I trully did, and it was the main headline, it is THERE, in the link I pasted.  if you dont speak Spanish it's your problem, not mine. If I said that USA set up dictatorships in south america it's because I was told so by at least 3 different history teachers, it's written in books and I even posted a little something for you, but you only read my insults, that's why you claim that I dont post proofs. besides, why do I have to  provide YOU with proofs. After all, who are you?

and why so obsessed with proving ME wrong when there're other users and even political leaders who claimed the same damn thing  :?:   So there're at least 3 presidents who are just as ignorant as I am ?  :smirk: yeah right.

I admit I wasnt educated in Harvard  :shy:   I receibed the normal middle class education which was given by maths teachers, language teachers, history teachers, biology teachers, etc.

and I'm fine with it, both the political analyst and the history teacher studied with the same books

The whole "US is seeking to occupy Libya" line is bullshit.

Gaddafi is slaughtering his own people-hes insane.

so are Mugabe, Jim Kong Il, Al-Bashier, Kagame, Kabila and those are just the ones i know of. It's not about the slaughter the west has always been good at turning a blind eye and honestly that doesn't bother me in the slightest but it's worth mentioning that that IS how it is.

Everybody likes to slam the US, and then when it comes to the crunch they want America to do the dirty work.

some do, some don't the populace will never understand the need and politicians will never understand how the populace can't

Its been stated very clearly the US will not occupy Libya.

people are stupid i don't even know where the USA would find the man power or the funding to attempt an occupation

The Iraq mistake has given them a bad reputation, and theyve been cautious to be part of a coalition that includes arab states.
You wouldnt want to be waiting for NATO to save your ass, it wouldnt happen.

international coalitions as historically proven do not work you're damn right there

Thank goodness that the allies went into Libya when they did, and woe the day when nobody takes action against evil.
lest we lose our resources

bottom line is this people
* libya has resources
* we need resources
* breaking human rights is a good reason to take action
* action typically ends in deals with the aggressor from the victorious party
* the public is made to feel morally superior
* facts about the atrocities of our allies (in this case the rebels) are glazed over for public consumption and support

this is no mercy mission the rebels have proven by rampant looting, murder and other such events including ETHNIC CLEANSING OF BLACK PEOPLE that they are not that different from Gaddafi.
Apparently a new Amy Winehouse 'Greatest Hits' collection is coming out, but the tinfoil and spoons aren't included.

People are idiots, people with mob mentality and power are bigger idiots. It's just that the rebels are the lesser of the 2 evils.

Secondly, there are no US troops occupying Libya as of right now, there won't be if things go "according to plan". However if this does become a civil war US, Canada, UN, EU or w.e will have no choice but to step in

i fail to understand how the rebels are the lesser after they've already started ethnic cleansing, and to think that they would implement a democracy or anything other than a dictatorship is insane and you know it. All that will happen is more turmoil and a nationwide attack on the rights or even lives of every black Libyan. Then what will we really have? a more extreme dictatorship doing worse things than before.

and i don't know if the last two lines were meant for me or not but as it begins with "secondly" i will assume they were but that's kinda weird because i never stated anything about occupation

I meant to quote the whole thing, yeah I see what youre saying, and the blind eye turned towards Mugabe and the like is disgusting too.
I just dont get the whole "nothings been done about xyz,so nothing should be done about abc" or whatever mentality.
Governments should be securing resources for their countries-otherwise they wouldnt be very good governments would they?

When I said secondly, I meant as an extension to what you are saying, seeing as how some people seem to think occupying a country means taking their oil.

The rebels are the lesser of the two evils because quite simply, they can be stopped much more easily. While Gaddafi has an army with tanks, jets etc. the rebels have guns, so as of right now Gaddafi's the bigger threat.

a nation with full backing from Al Queda and indeed AQ cells working for them will NEVER be easier to depose. And the rebels have jets and tanks in fact more tanks than the army and more foot soldiers.

the lesser of two evils suggests they are a better government body and the rebels are actually a worse bet as proven already by their alliances, the leaders history with the west and racial cleansing.

Gaddafi is also no threat to us not least because he has no real way to attack the west if he even wanted to and he's been trading oil with the west for ages and cooperating against terrorism (in fact it was Gaddafi-not the USA who first requested the hunt for Osama Bin Laden).

Gadaffi had mellowed towards the west in recent years, he was not as isolated as he was in the past. You cannot deny his past as he had strong links with the IRA too. I believe he is Italy's biggest oil supplier, so I don't see him as a danger to the west anymore. Either the west see this as a perfect op to get rid of him once and for all or they have had contact with the rebels meaning the new government will be much more supportive of the west. Either way they have seized that op.

I really don't belive the Americans got involved in this JUST to protect the people of Libya, there is always an alternative motive.
