Like shit lol but I march out after my field phase so lifes good from here. You guys still use bayonets in the marines? We did the assault course with em yesterday it was kick ass. When do you go by the way?

The Marines do, Army doesn't.

I was supposed to this month, but complications with my shoulder is pushing back the date to God knows when
This is simply a revenge mission by the US on Libya.  This will teach them a lesson for attacking Doc Emmett Brown in Back to the Future....... Damn Libyans

Gaddafi is not supported by approximately 20% of the people and tribes around Benghazi. These rebels are heavily armed, they won city by city and robbed everything. Will they bring prosperity in Libya? Who was begging for help? Armed rebels?

How they can be sure that the rebels are good guys and the legal army of Libyan state are criminals?

The whole "US is seeking to occupy Libya" line is bullshit.

Gaddafi is slaughtering his own people-hes insane.

Everybody likes to slam the US, and then when it comes to the crunch they want America to do the dirty work.

Its been stated very clearly the US will not occupy Libya.
The Iraq mistake has given them a bad reputation, and theyve been cautious to be part of a coalition that includes arab states.
You wouldnt want to be waiting for NATO to save your ass, it wouldnt happen.

Thank goodness that the allies went into Libya when they did, and woe the day when nobody takes action against evil.

Hell yeah dude. If the US gets involved, even with the UN backing us we get shit from the tree hugging, no solution but wishful thinking type people of the world.

If we do nothing we get shit from those very same people saying "how could you not do anything!".

I hate people who sit back, point fingers and critique shit but have no solutions of their own aside turning a blind eye or giving me the "they're misunderstood" or "its our fault they're like that" bullshit.

Russia dissaproves because they are Gaddafis main supplier...funny that.

I know it isnt popular, but a lot of us wouldnt be here if the USA hadnt gotten involved in world war II.

Yeah, vietnam, laos, etc etc was a mistake and at times bordered on genocide but fucking hell as Clinton said "theres nothing wrong with America that cant be fixed by whats right about America" what Im saying is a lot of Americans gave their lives so us faggots can sit around and moan about them on the internet.

So all the wet lefties can make fun of this post, and I dont care-best to be respectful of the supreme sacrifice a lot of men paid for our freedom, make no mistake.

I don't know what to think about it because on one hand, I'm of the idea that other countries should mind their own business and let the country that has trouble figure it out for itself. On the other hand, Gaddafi has been Lybia's president since my dad was born (even long before that!) and has stolen billions while many people in Lybia live below the poverty level, and worst of all: kills his own people like it was nothing! He deserves to be removed from his power! but this also could open the door to the intervention of powerful countries when it's not needed and create pointless wars... so I dont know in what side I should be  :(

It's like that episode of South Park where they say a country needs people to support war so that it doesnt look like the country is full of faggots but at the same time, it needs people who opposes war so that it seems a country has good-willed and caring people as well...

alot of countries have dictators that do all kinds of fucked up stuff. but we dont do anything to them.....i'm supportive of our troops all the way and i believe in this country with my whole heart, but its hard to see our deficit constantly going up and my kids school funding constantly going down.

I have a feeling if Bush was still president you and a LOT of people who are all the sudden "on the fence" about helping a country out with bombs and such would be having SUUUUCH a fit and cursing good ol' Bush to no end.

Its not about being "good willed or caring" its about doing whats right for people in general. And if bombs over some dictators house and a few hundred deaths would save an oppressed nation of hundreds of thousands of people for years to come, bombs away.

And if we're to keep to ourselves then thats cool too, but isn't crossing your arms and looking the other way just as bad or even worst in terms of the future?

I'm amazed about how Cuba managed to keep on being an independent country.

dont know if your comment was directed at me but what makes it okay to help this country and not other countries? we didnt do anything when sadaam was killing millions of people in the 80's or when africa decides to kill millions of its people but a country that has oil in it and we wont let it happen there! com on! i'm not saying what fuckface is doing is right or anything but we cannot afford to "step in" when our country is declining so rapidly! :(

If you think that countries spend billions of dollars in bombs and military technology just to help other countries out of the goodness of their hearts you must be very naive. There is always a greater interest that doesnt have to do with helping people.

I totally agree with you. It explains why the world doesn't help EVERY one and usually picks and chooses.

Some people are looking at this in terms of dollar signs and could care less about the people and there is nothing any of us can do about that. I will however look beyond that and try to look at it from a street level in Libya where even though the fat cats intentions are shitty the ground level citizens life could very well improve.

I strongly believe that all of our governments and all of our politicians are corrupt. A-Z so debating about their intentions is nonsense but again, if we can see some type of good coming out of it instead of things being the same or getting worst I'll at least back that. Like the lesser of a million evils.

There is no doubt though that a good president, knowing how fucked our country is would not at all invest 1 cent into a foreign affair but since when has a president cared about this country as opposed to the countries role in the world.

Either way it sucks man.
