I have another question concerning "TWAT", I'd like to know what do YOU think:
Which time is he talking about, when he sings "there was a time"? Old times in a relationship? Old Gn'R?
I think it's about old times in a relationship, namely the beginning when the love was all that mattered and the main character still was too blind to see what a person she really was.
At first I didn't think it could have to do anything with the old band. But then again, in several "new" songs (cough)hidden messages about the old band
can be read (OMG, SOD, Madagascar, pherhaps even Better and Sorry, allthough about the last one Axl denied the relationship to anyone he knows) and I suppose TWAT isn't really an exeption. The repeating "there was a time" might refer to the golden years of the band. I don't think it means Axl misses the others though, I guess it would be more about the memory of being aknowleged as one of the greatest bands and also feeling that. I don't say it's like that, I jsut see some aspects that could point in that direction.
