In the first place I don't understand why the hell there is still a sports event for England and it's old colonies. Is it just that they still want to feel like an empire once in a while?

we are not doing too bad, considering some of our best athletes decided not to compete.

England shit at sport? Boxing, Football, motor sport, snooker, just a few sports off the top of my head that we excel in far more than you convicts.

Wanna talk about the '08 olympics?

Might be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure the Queen is still head of state in all Commonwealth countries
I hope, I do not wait.

Some of ours decided not to as well, and I know British as well as Aussie athletes have suffered from Delhi Belly (although Aussie athletes still win with it  )

By the way didn't some Aussie kid win the world snooker championship or some shit in Britain a while back? Like June? Was on the news here but nobody cared. :laugh2:

We don't play soccer much (or well) that's true.. The big leagues here pump money at parents looking to wrap their children in cotton wool but the general consensus is that our own game is 10x better

Yeah Neil Robertson won the world championship, he's world number one also, he won another ranking event a few weeks back-I admire that guy loads, he came to Britain twice to try and make it in the game & failed, he came back a 3rd time, with just 500 ausd in his pocket-look at him now, I take my hat off to him. I made a thread about him.

Well general world consensus is that Football is 50x better

Anyway let's get back on topic-Bejing Olympics.

It's not my fault-i blame them fags for letting it stay that way :ninja:

The Aussies kick ass at sport, all you have to do is look around Melbourne, the place is full of stadiums. It's one of the biggest sporting cities in the world, if not the biggest. So many sporting events go on there every week throughout the entire year its amazing. Oz is greatly helped by the weather its gets, it just makes you want to spend as much time out in it as possible.

Shit oath mate, they say Australia is #2 or #1 fattest country (I don't remember which, it changes daily according to the news :argh ) but pretty much everyone here plays a weekend sport.

I'm not a huge summer sports fan, cricket isn't my thing. Tennis and Badminton when football is out of season = gold though

The Aussie lust for gold and winning and generally rubbing shit in the faces of the lesser commonwealth nations makes me sick.

These games stink, not just cause theyre in India either :giggle:
