IMO Steven was perfect for Appetite and Matt for UYIs.

Ex. YCMB. Matt owned that song and it fitted in perfectly with Slash's guitar, and Axl's voice

I agree. Matts a beast. I dont see why people are shitting on his drumming. On another nota Steven sounds like a dick here. I always thought he was like a clueless innocent puppy but here he comes off as a cocky ass

I remember Axl once said that Matt is maybe the best drummer in the world. I think it was in 1991. or something.

Matt was the best, Steven is great also but this interview.. :fpalm:

I would never have put Steve down as an arrogant type until I read this. Basically he is saying his drumming would have made UYI bigger than AFD  :O

Yet he didn't write one song.
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think
Oh by the way, which one's Pink?

Its funny how Steve comes off as a cocky shit when he is now on the 'up' (ok, he only released a book, buts its as up as Steve has got in the last few years). I wonder if this was how he was when he was in GNR, I know its only one interview, but you can see how the much the AFD era must have went to his head and basically led to his downfall.
clean your ears...Nickelback's guitar work is awesome.

Source please

Axl's interview with Del James (it's up on the GN'R site):

"With 'Illusions' several years ago, something came on the radio and I realized how the energy in the drums, though solid and consistent, brought me down in a way I feel damaged the material in the long run, if not from the get-go. Maybe it's there with some, most or all of us in ways, but I specifically notice it more with the drums. And when listening in that sense of analyzing how something feels to me in regards to its involvement or inclusion in the song, whether anyone disagrees I'm somewhat capable of removing myself and events from the picture."

Could you imagine him and Axl on stage with their egos? They'd end up duking it out on stage

Johan is not nuts. At least not anymore nuts than the rest of us. He is ruled by his own psychology, which includes jealousy that he cannot sing that high.

Steven Adler Apologizes to Matt Sorum

Steven Adler Apologizes to Matt Sorum

Original Guns N' Roses and current Adler's Appetite drummer Steven Adler was a guest on this past Monday's (August 30) edition of "Good Day L.A.", a television talk show which airs on KTTV (Fox 11), the Fox Broadcasting Company-owned and operated station in Los Angeles, California. Watch his appearance on the program below.

At the end of the interview, Adler can be seen speaking to the camera directly and saying, "I need to apologize to [Adler's replacement in Guns N' Roses] Matt Sorum. I'm sorry about what I said in those interviews. The words just came out wrong. I think you're amazing and I love you, man. Sorry about that."

Adler slammed Sorum in a recent interview with Ultimate-Guitar.com. Adler was kicked out of the band in 1990 due to his drug use, and when asked how he felt when he heard that Sorum would play on the band's 1991 "Use Your Illusion" records, Adler said, "His were just half-assed, crappy versions. Nothing personal against the guy, but he's like a goddamn drum machine. He's got no heart; he's got no soul; he's got no feel. And as life and the years have shown obviously I'm not the easiest drummer to replace."

Adler added that he thinks the "Use Your Illusion" albums would have been bigger than the band's 1987 debut, "Appetite For Destruction", if he had been on them.

As for the chances of the original GUNS reuniting, Adler said, "I would love that more than anything, but it's an Axl [Rose] thing; it's up to him if he wants to do it. Put it this way, it's the stupidest thing in the world for us not to do it."

Sorum told The Pulse of Radio a while back that if the original band reunites, they should perform with both him and Adler. "If it's me on drums or Steven or whatever, if it happened, it'd be great, you know," he said. "I would actually say to them, 'Hey, bring both of us back,' you know. Let me play the other stuff. We'll have two drum kits. I don't care. If 'Appetite' ['For Destruction', the band's debut] sounds better with Steven playing it, have both guys up there. They can afford it."

Adler has battled drugs for years and was a cast member of "Celebrity Rehab", although he relapsed briefly after appearing on the program.

Adler is on the road with his band Adler's Appetite and also recently played on ex-Guns guitarist Slash's self-titled solo album. He has just published his autobiography, "My Appetite For Destruction: Sex & Drugs & Guns N' Roses".

Slash, Sorum and bassist Duff McKagan are also all in Velvet Revolver.

Axl Rose has been fronting a completely different Guns lineup for several years now, with that band performing in Dublin, Ireland earlier tonight.
