Never. Usually Mr Rose dropped the mic and got off stage. So what a surprise fan, Axl Rose has changed too!!! It's only dumb and hilarious to protest when it's all your own fault still acting like an adolescent when you're almost 50. There are enough older rock bands on the road on tour who does show up on time and still rock like hell and appreciate their fans. Even here on this forum are rules to obey. Oh no don't post in the wrong section as the most important example....

Guns are not in back in their old days. These are over. This is not the late 80's and early 90's anymore: it's 2010. And this all was a joke last night but very, very entertaining.

Acting like an adolescent? Adriana he went on stage an hour late. He didn't hurt anyone or anything. The audience sure seemed on his side in all the videos I've seen of the band after the equipment had been turned off

The adolescent portion might be awarded to DJ if he did smash his guitar.

By the way there are no repercussions for posting in the wrong section it just gets moved so it's not really a rule, just a policy.. There really aren't many rules people get away with murder here.

They should have been professional and just gone on at the right time, that's what they were paid for.
Axl is a fat bald wanker-I like him, A LOT!!!!!

Just got back from the weekend.  Thought i would tell you what i saw.......

I sensed it would be an interesting night during QOTSA.  Josh Homme mentioned something about GnR which led to a ring of boo's around the whole arena.  Knowing Axl, i really wouldn't be suprised if he decided here to be late.

They were an hour late.  I was expecting it, but the majority of the crowd were booing and chanting for slash.  When they finally came on, i had to move because there was so much booing during Chinese Democracy.

The only word i can use to explain what happened next is..... AWESOME!

The band was great, i wasnt sure what to expect from Axls voice, but that scream at the start of Welcome to the Jungle, i was amazed.

Highlights for me were This I Love, Nightrain and You Could Be Mine.

At the end and the sit in the crowd was definetly divided, between 16 year old chavs and overweight iron maiden fans singing 'your not singing any more' and the GnR fans singing 'let them play'

Axl had a rant, were the idiots in the crowd thought it was directed at them, but i reckon it was towards the organisers.  If this is GNRs responsibility then i take this part back, but the screen broke, the sound at times wasnt loud enough and a few times the pryos were off time.

Having said all this.....I am never going to forget this, it is possibly the best thing i have ever seen.  Fuck Blink 182.

Our start times at the Reading and Leeds festivals factually had nothing to do with us as the previous bands (who were great by the way) came off stage when they did and we went on within' our contracted and documented changeover time period.

Whatever other nonsense anyone's choosing to write would appear intentionally false.

Having the fans or our show penalized for how the event was ran or simply the natural flow of events those evenings and for such minimal amount of overtime along with distortions and falsehoods by media, the promoter and or event organizers regarding the events seems a bit draconian and more than unfair to the fans.

A simple question: If you are aware of our changeover time, the average length of our show and the general nature of how these types of festivals run all of which are no big secrets...why book us?

Is it simply because the lineup on our nights at both festivals sold well? So it's a cash grab with no respect for the fans or the band and somehow an unwanted inconvenience for the cities and law enforcement? If we're not wanted and just being used to line someone else's pockets or for fictitious tabloid fodder at the fans and our expense we're fine with going elsewhere. God forbid we would force ourselves on anyone. It's not that kinda party.

I didn't organize, arrange, authorize, have knowledge of or was even consulted about our being booked for these shows till after the fact nor did I choose to work with anyone I'm aware of other than our manager who was involved in arranging these dates. Yet it would appear we're amazingly often legally obligated to honor such arrangements whether against our will or better judgment. That's simply and unfortunately how this business often works with the artist and imo seems is legally supported to benefit managers, agents, promoters and ticket vendors.

With how the fans and we were treated in the past I had what I feel were legitimate and now proven justified apprehensions. Yet we gave 100% and from where we stood it seemed as if the both the fans (who rocked!) and our camp were having fun and making the most of things.

Why (and what would appear intentionally) risk having it go bad for everyone? Imo that's where true recklessness and negligence at both the fans and our expense would seem to be.

Anyway...thanks again to all the fans who made our nights!!

Peace!!

Where are you praising the band for the good times? Exactly - you and Andy have that common human disease, you don't acknowledge the good, and there has been a lot of it - but when there's something to bitch about the world's your stage. Am I wrong?

actually no, that's not true. cause when this tour has just started I gave GNR their props. I think i posted nice things in the Seoul and Taipei (was it Taipei :hmpf) threads and I was even impressed.

So as a general reply, Ill only say: dont try to categorize my views into hater/ass kisser cause as you can see, I dont have any fixed thoughts about any band or person. I allow myself to change of mind everynow and then

If GNR played here tomorrow, Id go again... and if they gave a good perfermance Id naturally praise them

Yes but you've not been objective since they 'disappointed' you at your gig, is what I guess I meant. Looking for an outlet to complain is what I'm saying, as there hasn't been many opportunities lately. I'm basing this on you having pretty much stopped visiting the News section since your gig, and only really returned to give the band what for over Reading

nah, I live in Whatever and it's always been like that. I check the news section only when some HUGE event takes place and teh incident at Reading was quite significant so i went and posted.

but I confess that I dont watch all gigs (that's why i dont complain too much lately ) I only watch the ones that im shown, recommended or  that were commented on TV

take Leeds as an example, I heard it was great. But i havent watched it. If I had, I would've commented.MAybe Ill watch it later if i have time, and if I have more time, Ill also comment
