Having not read any of the previous posts relating to this thread, I have only one thing to say:

This was the worst World Cup in the history of the event.

Yeah, it was pretty poor. I mean not even one headbutt...
An empty shell seems so easy to crack.
Got all these questions.
Don't know who I could even ask.
So I'll just lie alone and wait for the dream.
Where I'm not ugly and you're looking at me.

It's been gettin' shitter for years in the name of makin it more 'global' '98 team increase and 2006 confederation change(aussies) have dragged the overall standard down.
I hope, I do not wait.

I thought South Africa (2010) had a considerably better standard of football than Germany (2006). The last time I thoroughly enjoyed a World Cup was South Korea/Japan (2002), obviously because the Republic of Ireland was in it and done extremely well. It was also quite eventful with the whole Roy Keane saga.

Conf' changes. Oz moved to asia. Trust me the quality is in long term dilution in the name of it bein more global. Slight variations in recent tournaments mean little.

i'd probably think the same if the french cheated our team out of qualifying.

that said there were so many highlights...argent ina vs germany, england vs germany, Ghana vs Uruguay, mexico vs south africa...all fun games.

i mean every game from the quarter finals that Spain played was like watching paint dry but otherwise i felt it was a really cool world cup.

several players either made a fantastic name for themselves or just fortified the name they had players like Forlan, Muller, Schweinsteiger, Torres, Robinho and several more including a few dutch players whose names i can't remember for love or money.
Apparently a new Amy Winehouse 'Greatest Hits' collection is coming out, but the tinfoil and spoons aren't included.

I enjoyed some of the earlier games. The downer for me was Brazil & Holland playing to defensive. If they had played like they used to it would have been better. The collaspe of France (which I enjoyed) put a taint on the WC along with all the talk about the ball, in the early stages the free kicks were pathetic. Not to meantion some very poor ref decisions (England goal)

From a tv point of view, watching any of the matches on the BBC or ITV was painful. All they did was turn ever match into a discussion about England's shit display and the pundits were shocking Southgate, Adebayor (could not understand a word), Desailly & Adrian Chilles (what a dick) should never be let on the tv again. RTE was better but too drawn out.

Germany made the WC for me, without them it would have been an epic fail. I should also show some respect to Uruguay, who greatly pleased me. But the rest can fuck off. Hopefully Brazil in 2014 will have a much higher quality of football.

in regards to Brazil i blame Dunga their manager, he had 4 exceptional players 2 of whom were old legends of the team the other 2 were a pair of the strongest young players brazil has to offer and he turned them down.

needless to say he won't make that mistake twice.

They have a new coach now (nearly) and I expect to see them turn on the style to a massive degree in 2014. The fans won't stand for anything else.

ronaldo, rivaldo, ronaldinho, robinho would have been an impressive team...too bad it won't be happening.
