Is anyone else worried about the fact that Stevie is writing a 'tell-all' book? Slash's book was awesome because it focused on what he got up to rather than bitching about people. I can't help but think this book will be the opposite, especially in light of how he was sacked from the band

Yes, it´s quite possible it´s just about bitching about people and, like Morgan said, the book is waste of paper if it is just bitching.

Slash´s book is indeed great, for the reasons you told.

So? That's just means that when Axl's semi-sober then he's as truthful and reliable as OJ.

Of course sober and semi-sober people can lie. Still I would believe the story coming from semi-sober person rather than one coming from person who is high all the time. Then again, can we really know who is lying and who is not?

Actually, it can be pretty good fiction, if he keeps away from too much blaming.

his MyGNR post was enough for me to get an idea of how a book would sound.

"hiring Slash into the band was the biggest mistake i ever made, he was always wasted and you could never rely on him and as time went by he only got worse, back then i thought dealing with him in 91-92 would be the hardest thing i would ever have to do  but in 95 i realised that i was wrong, dealing with him in 95-96 was impossible. without Izzy Slash was the devil that told me to just shut up and sing his material even if i wasn't comfortable with those songs and if i wanted to bring anything in there he'd refuse to play it. if you think that i did not want it to work out, you're high but nothing i did made it easier and then when he left i really tried to contact him and just give up and let him have it his way just so Guns could release something - anything and we could go back on tour but he didn't return my calls and none of his friends/family could nor would do anything to help me."

this is a short version of the final chapters in a GNR tell-all book written by Axl. i'd be interested to hear about the 80s (his arival to L.A., meeting Tracii, Rob, Ole, Duff, Steven, Gilby, Mötley Crue, opening for the Stones & Aerosmith the making of AFD and Lies and etc, the seattle trip and the era where the AFD line-up were like brothers) from him but i know how his feelings towards Slash are and i don't want to read about the 90s nor anything Slash/break-up related thing for the same reasons you don't want to read Steven's book. i would also love to read about the writing proccess of CD and his relationship with all the New-Guns members, (Robin, Huges, Tommy, Bucket, Josh, Brain, Pitman, Fortus, BBF, Frank & DJ.)

The sub-plots sound like they could be Star Wars films: 'Slash's betrayal' and 'Duff's Revenge'. I can just imagine those two sitting there with their sith lord hoods while Stevie battles the dark side using an elementary knowledge of the force. Oh, and Dr. Drew Pinsky cameos as the Obi Wan Kenobi style mentor who inspires him.

I don't think I'll bother with this one. Maybe if in a few years Stevie hasn't relapsed then I might give it a go - as it stands I fear any money I give him in buying the book may go on drugs that will kill him.

when was that? the Farm-Aid thing in 1990 is famous because it was Adler's last show with GNR and i don't remember this happening there.

Just regular e-book torrents Morgan. You will need a reader(I suggest foxit)
PDF files are the most common, but LIT is better quality. However for foxit to read LIT. You will need a converter. PDF is simple though.

"Axls unpredictable temper" leads him further down the dark path till he is ultimately consumed by the Dark Side Of The Force and becomes Darth Willy
