MAZE RUNNER by James Dashner (run or die in Spanish)
He doesnt recall a single thing but his name. The amnesia begins just with the story and the main character finds himself trapped in an elevator which goes who knows where and he has no idea about what he's doing in that elevator but feeling a weird paranoid instinct that tells him that in order to survive, he has to run and hide. the elevator finally gets to its final destination, and he finds himself in a gloomy, neverending backyard which walls are covered by huge twisted trees. Some strangers welcome him and tell him that now he's in "the area".
so far I only read 4 chapters. the overall atmosphere is really gloomy and it pretends to be a thriller, a suspence novel. sometimes it catches your attention, sometimesb it doesn't. As for the literary style (descriptions, word chice, etc) it's very simple, almost poor. BUt! I'm reading it in Spanish, maybe the one to blame is an unskillful translator... I'll still give it a chance, cause I never leave a book unread. (except for catcher in the rye, that one sucked
