Not so much disappointing, I think shite would be an apt description.

Who Ate All The Pies? The Life And Times Of Mick Quinn.

Excellent biography.

Football as it used to be in England.

Before they were megastars, booze, gambling and outright public debauchery were order of the day.
A look at the old school, through the eyes of jovial scouser Micky Quinn, is eye-opening, funny and damn entertaining.

I hope, I do not wait.

Just finished "A Spell of Winter" by Helen Dunmore. It's the last time I'm taking advice from a librarian, that's for sure.

Orhan Pamuk's "Snow"

Very good read about political Islam, Muslim & anti-Muslim fanatics and Kemalist ideology in Turkey. Over 680 pages long, but totally worth it.

Excellent review.  :coffee

Nah, I'm being serious, it is an excellent review. The story is that good and besides, I've never liked a blatherskite.
I hope, I do not wait.

Damn fine book.

Now, if you haven't read it already, go and read 'The Stand'.
If you have already read it, read it again anyway.

That is good advice, but I seldom re-read a novel. I normally go for the audio book option once I've already read it.

Are audio books any good? Never really saw the appeal, myself.

I re-read some books ocassionally, usually when I'm done with all the other books on my 'to read' list. You often pick up on things you never noticed before (forshadowing in particular), which is especially the case in long and deep books like those of Mr. Kingg (just to give one example.)
