Don't let it be said
« on: May 06, 2010, 01:13:59 AM »
that I don't give credit when it is due. Obama did the second thing today of which I approve. The first thing was when he approved more troops for Afghanistan so that we can surge and get out of there.

Today, he signed a bill to increase VA benefits, including income benefits for family members who have to quit working to take care of wounded veterans. Many of you may know the respect I have for combat veterans and taking care of the military and ex-military is one of the things I consider a good use of tax money.

Ya'll are used to me "bashing" him. Well, today, he gets a "job well done" from me.

As for why I can support this, even if I disagree with him on an number of things, the Constitution is designed to provide for the common defense and having an excellent military and veterans' benefits program is part of that mandate, I believe.

Amazing. The one time I give Obama some props and no one chimes in, even in agreement. Which makes me think that they only like to disagree with me when I am disagreeing with Obama. Oh, the contention. Oh, the drama.

What happened to the apparently amiable nature of Barack Obama? Why I am yet to see the revolutionary actions he was going to perpetrate? I don't view sending more troops into an illegal war zone as being positive, a war which the U.N.S.C do not condone I might add. It's perfectly fine for the U.S.A to launch wars on George Bush's brand of “terrorism” though, the U.N capitalist pigs wouldn't want the streams of funding coming from the land of liberty to be cut of course. Did it ever occur to you that the U.S.A's presence in Afghanistan is no way validated, don't you realise that the individuals who are alleged to have masterminded and carried out “9/11” are living in Pakistan? The sinister intentions of this war simply reeks, we haven't even been given credible figures as to how many civilian casualties there have been.

I'm against any funding being given to the carers of U.S.A so called modern day “veterans”, why provide for people who have worn the butcher's apron so to speak? If I were citizen of the U.S.A, I would be deeply disturbed in knowing my money was benefiting people who fought a war their conscious told them was wrong, are the Iraqi/Afghanistan people getting benefits for being tortured and interrogated against their will? U.S imperialism is clearly in full swing, today's U.S.A represents everything the latter was traditionally against. On a side note, when have the U.S.A sincerely abided to any "Constitution"? Putting the U.S.A and Constitution in the same sentence is the ultimate juxtaposition.

your views are laughable

Your response is equally laughable, are you incapable of being constructive? The majority of my statement is centred around fact, only a section within it is my own personal view/views. Enlighten me as to what is incorrect in my comment. Is it because the grand old U.S.A isn't the land you were lead to believe it was? You're a classic example of a blind citizen within your state, I hate to bust your patriotic American bubble, but significant sections of your country's relations is wrong in every aspect of the word. But by all means, go on and naïvely support your country's warmachine, herald your soldiers as heros, and shun the cry of the Afghan people.

the problem with US in the middle east is: not enough rebuilding their crumbled society and instead, too much fighting.

1. The UN? seriously? Oh God, the UN condemns! what are they gonna do? Write an angry letter?

2. Obviously nothing I say is gonna change your view point, so I'm not even gonna try. To call soldiers who give their lives for freedom and their lives for their country "butchers" is just plain pathetic and sad. But that's my opinion, so it's just as valid as yours.

Well, In August I'm gonna join the Marine Corps, and I'm proud to. Can't wait ta get over seas and butcher me sum Afghanis! Good BBQ meat I hear! :D
This is simply a revenge mission by the US on Libya.  This will teach them a lesson for attacking Doc Emmett Brown in Back to the Future....... Damn Libyans

Hooraw, Doc. I expected Chez to bust me on this, too. For he can't do anything but argue. So, the one time I want to give Obama some applause, he has to shit on that, too. I think it comes from him not having a clue and thinking he does.

Speaking of, Chez, why don't you try prattling your bullshit to the Afghani govt.? You know, the one who thinks it's now okay for women to vote and receive an education, as opposed to the taliban regime before, that didn't? So, can I use your kind of logic and say that you preferred Afghanistan under the taliban? Grow some gonads and go tell them that.

What? No? It's easier to shit on the people that helped you out before? Oh, okay. Whatever.

Any way, Doc, semper fi.

out of interest why do YOU believe the war in Afghanistan was started in the first place? As for paying veterans i 100% support paying them lord knows some of them deserve it.

The USA is a xenophobic often moronic country full of people who are exactly the same. That said so is the UK and many other countries but a lot of what is done by the USA even under Bush is morally just from their view point.

i know intentions don't make up for actions but it's important to see the motive too.

I can do plenty more than argue and i wasn't going to come into a thread with no discussion what would be the point if i already agree with what you said. Unfortunately for you i'm pretty aware of everything i say and i do as you say have a clue but we have a major difference in opinion thus you reject everything i put to you and nothing you've put to me has been sourced so i've written that off too.

what do i have in common with the Afghan government exactly?

I don't really see how though mate, i've condemned Bush a lot over the years i think he was a bad president but that doesn't change that he thought he was doing a good thing and i can respect when you do something you think is good and end up fucking everything up.

It could be said that i worship Obama however with the Democrats pushing S373 and the Lacey act all my business, all my hobby resources and all my friends who do the same from the USA could be ruined.

Right now i'm pretty pissed at the democrats who have such a grasp on economy that they're trying to ruin a $3billion industry. Great way to give jobs and make money-one person fucked up in the last year with a snake and someone died so they try to cut away this huge income source and job providing industry.

if it was about protecting humans they would have ban dogs too because statistically they are thousands of times more likely to kill a human than any large snake.

this is a silly little law due to the media's involvement.

long story short fuck Bush and fuck Obama that said each has done or is doing things that I understand even if i don't support it.
