reports suggest the economy will fuck up if we get the euro too so all the more reason not to do it. (along with the fact we're a VERY xenophobic nation).

Yep.

 I've noticed that on vacations but at the same time it's a part of the charm of that country of yours!

I voted Conservatives, can't see any other party with the capability of leading this country out of
the mess it is in. I really don't get the sudden support for the Lib Dems, more immigrants and in
favour of joining the euro, I would rather Labour get bck in than the Lib Dems.

Hung parliament. Let's see if Cameron can form a government. What are the chances he'll get in bed with the Lib Dems?

Surprised by how disappointed people are with the Lib Dems results, I can't believe people expected them to do so well. People obviously had second thoughts when they went to ballot. Shows how shaky opinion polls can be....

due to the fact the exit poll had labour with 250+ and lib dem with about 50+ i'd say a lot of people agree with you

Lib Dems have already been propositioned by Labour and they said they would if they got rid of Gordon Brown...apparently they still wouldn't have enough seats though so they'd have to join up with ultra right wing groups who managed some kind of influence in order to actually beat the conservatives.
Apparently a new Amy Winehouse 'Greatest Hits' collection is coming out, but the tinfoil and spoons aren't included.

Nick Clegg has already said though that David Cameron should be the one to form a government since he has the most seats, and he went on to say (this morning) that if the Tories could get over 300 seats then it would be best if Gordon Brown stepped aside. It's actually a great position in a way - the Lib Dems can force some change, but won't be able to get through their more radical ideas that people don't seem to like. It just remains to be seen if we get a stable government or if we go to the polls again in a years time :smirk:

I know why Conservatives and Lib Dems would want to form a coalition ofcourse, but I don't see how they could possibly be a good fit. I mean they're on opposite sides of the political spectrum, if they did join together I wouldn't be surprised to just see the Tories push the Liberals to one side and act as if they weren't there.

If they did that the Lib Dems would pull out of the coalition and the government would be dissolved, forcing a re-election. The main parties will have to make serious concessions if they want to form a government.

True, I imagine a re-election is probably what will happen. That may also see Brown resign to get a new figurehead in for Labour for the voting.

Milliband is the parties favourite to succeed him.

I reckon we'll have a lib-conservative coalition for now...but i cant see it lasting long. Expect another lection in a year or two's time

Still shocked (but also pleased), at how few seats the lib dems won though!

Well despite the lack of seats won by the Lib Dems, this was a great election result for them. They took a larger share of the vote than last time, and are now in a position of power - come the next election, they will have experience of government, meaning people will be less likely to see them as a wasted vote. Good times will follow I think/hope :banana
