As much as many people seem to like Myles Kennedy, I firmly believe he's nowhere near as talented Scott Weiland was.

+1

There are parts in 'Starlight' where Myles does an Axl-style shriek for seemingly no reason. I've heard he sings like that all the time. It's fine for that song, but him being in Velvet Revolver would probably make them sound too much like GN'R. It might be what some people wanted in the first place, but I was among those who were glad they decided to go with their own sound (neither GN'R or STP, but a fresh-sounding combo of the two) with Contraband. I wouldn't be looking forward to a Velvet Revolver record with Myles as the singer.

I have to admit I can't imagine anyone else fitting the band as well as Scott, and I suspect that's a big part of why it's taking so long, but I just don't think getting him back is an option at this point.

she kisses 2 guys: Shes a SLUT; he bangs 5 girls: Hes a LEGEND. Well, theres a simple way to see this; If you got a lock that can be open with many keys, that lock kinda sucks, right? But if you got a key that can open many locks, it's a master key;)

What is meant by talent?

Scott while in VR wrote some of the most awful awful lyrics, some of the worse I have ever heard by a frontman that is held in such high regard. Scott's lyrics singlehandly ruined Contraband for me.

He has a voice and does put on a good show (except his dancing). I have not seen as much of Myles but his lyrics are better imo, he has a good voice but is not as good a showman. Image wise Scott is a better fit.
clean your ears...Nickelback's guitar work is awesome.

I don't like either one but I have to agree. If I had to choose, I'd choose Scott

Fuck you, whore.

Johan is not nuts. At least not anymore nuts than the rest of us. He is ruled by his own psychology, which includes jealousy that he cannot sing that high.

As much as some people dislike him, he brings something to his bands which no one can really duplicate. Sure, he's not technically a very good singer, but he's so charismatic. I'm not saying I'd instantly peg a post-Scott VR as boring or anything, but they'd have to have someone damn good to sing songs from the first 2 albums.

I agree that Scott had something about him, and I can see how Myles might be seen as being a bit 'boring'. I know little about Myles but I'm not an Alter Bridge fan.

But tbh the lyrics were so bad on Contraband, I'm a sucker for lyrics and they let the music down imo.
