I'm not such a big fan of Kaka to be honest. I mean I am not doubtuing his ability, but I feel that both Xavi and Fabregasare better players

Damn right, give Kris Boyd they're chance he'll bury more. (Although he may not be able to get into the positions they do, but thats beside the point ). Best player in the world. End of.  :slywink:

I would have put Buffon in my starting 11 as he is my favourite modern day keeper behind McGregor (who in my opinion is one of the best keepers about at the moment although hes stupid off the pitch) but Casillas has been so good this season, like proper amazing.

I'm sure Lampards goal rate would outshine Steveie's quite a bit too.

I'm an Everton fan, so I don't give Gerrard credit lightly, but if he was in the Chelsea squad, Lampard would be on the bench! It's not Gerrards fault he plays in such a shit team! Anyway on further reflection both Xavi & Iniesta take places before Gerrard or Lampard!

I dunno. I think since Alonso was sold we've all seen that he was the main man in Liverpools midfield. Gerrard's attacking ability was only so good because he had Alonso to supply him where as Lampard is consistant no matter who he is pair with in midfield.

Yes... Yes they would.

This is why I don't consider Lampard and Gerrard to be as similar as many claim they are. Gerrard is more of an attacking force - a great runner with loads of energy. Lampard, although can also play this role, is much better suited to linking play IMO. He is great at interchanging with players in midfield and running forward in support. I honestly think the Gerrard/Lampard combo for England should be great, but Erikson and Shteve McLaren never managed to make it happen :shy:

Seeing as finding a good partner for Rooney seems difficult (if Heskey can't start for Villa he can't start for England), and also seeing as Lampard and Gerrard are the next best attacking players for England, we should try fitting the system to them. Either play 4-4-1-1 like liverpools system with gerrard basically as a centre forward supporting rooney, and then lampard slightly behind with barry holding, or 4-3-3 like Chelsea with rooney spearheading supported by 2 wingers and then lampard and gerrard breaking from midfield with barry holding. it would have been worth atleast trying out in warm up games.

Oh and clearly lampard > gerrard

If it wasn't clear before, this season has shown it
An empty shell seems so easy to crack.
Got all these questions.
Don't know who I could even ask.
So I'll just lie alone and wait for the dream.

I wouldn't start two strikers with england because I feel that anyone placed with Rooney would be below par, where as they could easily field a strong 5 man midfield. Providing Wayne's back to 100% I'd be going for:

                                    Hart

M.Richards          Terry                 Ferdinand      Cole-A-

                                    Barry
                    Gerrard                   Lampard

 Milner                                                        Young

                                Rooney

Hart has been brilliant this season, but he's not been tested at this level yet so i think Capello will stick with Green or James. He'll most likely be the 3rd choice keeper though.
