me too, its always better to have your own images in your head, and to imagine things through your own mind's interpretation than to have a visual representation of a thing from somebody elses mind.  Its more personal that way.

Movies can't quite live up to your imagination...like the books do....Stephen King only made one movie that did any of his books justice...."The Stand". All others should have just stayed books.

yeah i own this movie. a cousin of mine watched it with me when it came out. i remember seeing the tv show for the oscar awards where they where awarding best lead role and it was between Leonardo Decaprio for Titanic and Christian Bale for American Psycho, and of course Leonerdo won.

its interesting to know that originally the lead role for American Psycho was up in the air between Christian and Leonerdo with them settling on Leonerdo, but then Christan Bale won the role back somehow. Then the oscar for best lead role ends up being between Titanic and American Psycho, with the shitty move Titanic taking it.

but Christians acting in this movie was fucking brilliant! When i was in high school i watched this movie and alot of my poetry and overall personallity was influenced in a big way by Patrick Bateman. the movie definitly rings true.... on the exterior we may be cool, cold and expressionless but on the inside, we can be completely out of control. Thats saying something important about how we may feel about our places in life if you think about it.

if you read the book you will be heavily disappointed in the movie....the movie is average at best

... wel... you have to keep in mind people like me who watched it first and realized there was a book afterwards.

Even The Stand movie was worse than the book, and that's a 6 hour movie!
I hope, I do not wait.

All you guys should read Helen Zahavi's "Dirty Weekend" (1991). No, this is not about "female fantasies" like Patrick has, Bella has a mission. There's film about this book I've never watched and don't want to watch either. Heard too bad reviews and I love the book itself too much.

"Bella woke up one morning and realized she'd had enough."
So begins the triumphant tale of one woman's personal vendetta against a world of peeping toms, rapists, and obscene phone-callers.

I think I'm gonna re-read after so many years.
I know a man who loved or still loves to re-read, re-watch American Psycho over and over again.....
