His image was never an issue to me, I've never cared for any member's looks that's why  Buckethead is my favorite GNR guitarist and will always be. I wasn't impressed with Ashba from his work on Sixx AM; now however, I think GNR/Axl couldn't have made a better choice for guitarist.   :rockon:

waited to form opinion  till i heard him w this band, he's killer, 1. band is super tight,2 axl sounds great 3 dj way better than fink(sorry fink lovers).When i last saw them,at the hammerstein ballroom robin just didn't look like he fit in, dj makes me wanna go see them again,so i will. :coffee

I agree that DJ's better fitted to GN'R than Finck. Not really saying he's better on the guitar....just saying DJ's.. overall...he looks the part and performs more to my liking for GN'R. Cannot in anyway say he is better than Slash....Slash is an icon...d/t his involment with GN'R and doing ok on his own. Besides I think Finch's heart is with NIN....this is all IMO.

Ridiculous comment. However, I do agree that DJ Ashba is awesome and I did say that A LOT BEFORE the tour.

meh i like Finck but he never impressed me much live. i liked his Jesus look but what someone looks like is not what i'm paying to see when i go to a concert. DJ isn't that epic live guitarist either. i mean he's not bad and did a good job on these last shows but i like his writing ability better than his live playing ability.

I like both his writing ability and his guitar playing. Didn't have the chance to watch Finck live, only on youtube and bootlegs, but I couldn't feel his energy on stage. With DJ I feel like I'm watching him in person not on a screen every single time.
And btw, his work with Sixx:AM is awesome, and I can't wait to see what they came up with now, and really hope he'll have the chance to write something with GNR, cause his sensitivity with Axl's lyrics would be epic :rockon:
Oh, and personality - he seems like the sweetest man, real fun to be around, easy going (this based on his interaction with fans and with me on a few ocasions)
