Can anyone clarify this story?

I heard it (on the grapevine) that Led Zep copied/stole some riffs/music from The Who or something (way back in the day)?

The 60s was seeing the great phenomenon of "Jewish" rock stars, especially Dylan. Townsend was obviously a creative force, Ozzy.... Led Zep had no "Jewishness" so to speak, and I've heard something about Pete writing something.....

and then Led Zep came up with Kashimir....

Zeppelin grew on me gradually.

At first I wasn't interested in anything beyond Stairway To Heaven and Kashmir but now I can say they have become one of my favourite bands. I'm a big fan of their early albums, I-IV especially.

Speaking of Zeppelin... In some other thread I said I didn't want Plant and Page to perform under the Led Zeppelin name. My explanation for that was that they don't seem true anymore, they seem distant to what they were in Zeppelin.

I was spot on. The date is a few weeks old though.  :smoking:

In the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine — on stands and online in the digital archives now (subscription required) — Robert Plant explains to writer Stephen Rodrick why he was unwilling to keep performing with LED ZEPPELIN after their 2007 reunion concert.

"It was an amazing evening," Plant says. "The preparations for it were fraught and intense, but the last rehearsal was really, really good, for all that it represented and all that we were trying to capture. But I've gone so far somewhere else that I almost can't relate to it...It's a bit of a pain in the pisser, to be honest. Who cares? I know people care, but think about it from my angle — soon, I'm going to need help crossing the street."

Can someone just comment on the rumours that these absolute LEGENDS might get back together to perform at Desert Trip Festival?

Well I can. The strange thing was: I was laying awake in the middle of the night and thought about this and that, including Led Zeppelin and wondering if they would ever "reunite" for a show or two (seeing Plant & Page are still capable), then later I fell asleep again... and on the same day the first "music news" I read was Plant "hinting at a reunion".  :O

That is one strange story! :O  I cannot wait to hear how they would sound nowadays. The 2007 reunion show was bloody brilliant (and so was the Robert Plant material with Alison Krauss), but this was like 10 years ago. That being said, never underestimate the Led Zeppelin...

Yeah and I'm not even the biggest fan... I like them, but I do not own all the albums.
I can only imagine such things do happen when there's "something in the air" and somehow late at night my brain "caught" it... very mysterious.
