Sadly I have only been lent the third series of this fucking fantastic show so I'm watching it a wee bit out of context. But fuck me what a great tv program. Not only is it hilarious, but it is exactly how I imagine government works in this country. And the way the camera work is done annoyed me at first, but I see the point of it now: it makes it seem like a fly on the wall documentary which gives a layer of realism. Absolutely brilliant stuff. I would recommend this show to anyone. Malcolm Tucker for the fucking win

I tried downloading this for a long time but no one seemed to be sharing it. How does it compare to The Office and other British mocumentaries?

Personally I don't like the office, which should give you some indication as to how it compares! It has a more serious edge to it I'd say, even though the characters are generally fuckwits. It's the classic setup of twats fucking things up for the cynical but clever person at the top who has to try and sort things out, which is what government is I suppose

Downloaded the first series of Veep last and watched the Episode 1. I really thought this was a ridiculous idea, and granted I doubt it will hit the level of The Thick of It, but I have to say I was very happy to see it stuck exactly to the style of The Thick of It, and it certainly will be worth watching

Well I just watched episode 2. I wouldn't even describe it as a remake exactly, more or less just "an American version". The style is the same, the comedy is the same, the writers and directors are mostly the same. It is truly The Thick of It in the White House. So far I'm much more impressed than I thought I was going to be
